I couldn’t agree with you more about Chanel having to stick to being timeless and essentially beautiful. Let’s leave intense colourful makeup to other brands. Chanel is eternal and should always be classic and timeless in colours and products. 💗
@Esther_332 жыл бұрын
I agree 100% on your chanel monologue! I hope chanel does stay classic and timeless. I see comments on ig complaining that the makeup is not exciting or different, but there is so much out there for that audience. however there is less classic, diffused, natural style out there. I'm 33, and want to look feminine, put together, and naturally beautiful.

Based on your recommendations I have 3 of the six palettes you mentioned Angela. I think, Tisse Rivoli is my favorite and I find the colours in that palette to be so interesting because of how they look in the pan but how they translate on my eyelids. I love it so much that I’m even considering a back up 🙈🤭😄 That CT palette looks really nice. In addition to your choices I also find Dior- Soft Cashmere, Burberry- Smokey Brown, Estee- Fiery Safron( discontinued) to be very wearable any day ❤️

Hello Angela ~ What a helpful video! The looks you create are elegant and timeless. I like the Chanel Tisse Rivoli eyeshadow palette, and I am now using the Chanel Tweed Ombré Rose. As a mature woman, I like hearing that it’s OK to use a bit of shimmer on the eyes. I look forward to your next upload. Have a lovely week. ~ Julie ❤

These were all great picks, Angela! I am also loving my tweed eye shadow palettes from Chanel, too. When I think of Neutral palettes, the ones I use the most are the Healthy Le Beige eye shadow palettes medium, deep, and intense from Chanel. The Glam palette and mini nude palette from Natasha Denona are also great neutral palettes in my humble opinion. Thank you, thank you for sharing, Angela! I hope Angela and all of you, have a great week! 🥰🇫🇷☕️🇮🇹🥰❤️

great round up choices. my favorite (and first) chanel palette is neutral = canduer et experience! the mattes are so creamy and i use that palette on its own and to compliment others. that palette got me hooked on chanel. adding rivoli to my wishlist. im light medium skin tone and the tom ford body heat gets really smoky easily. i have to be careful to have a light hand, but its amazingly gorgeous. my only tom ford palette.

I wholeheartedly agree about shimmer on mature eyes. At age 44 with hooded lids, it's difficult to pull off all matte eyeshadow looks. I don't have the TF quad and this may be a purchase that I will make. The CT Sophisticate wasn't a successful color story for my undertones. I prefer the Chanel Clair Obscure on my pink undertones. However it does lean warm. Love love love this video!!

Hi Sara :) I always enjoy reading your opinion on makeup. We have similar preferences and you have such a well curated makeup collection. I think you might enjoy TF Nude Dip. It has been my favorite TF palette. I used to have Clair Obscur. It's true that it does lean warm but it's a lovely color story. Have a beautiful day! xoxo

Such a cool new series. So fun !! I’ll head over to that. I need to expand my shadows. I have a Chanel (the pink) I only have one Dior. Mitzah. I really love it. For softer looks. Chanel has the timeless beauty. I haven’t pulled the trigger on TF. BUT nude dip and there is another I don’t remember the name !

I have Brun et Rose (including a backup) and Nude Dip. Imperial Moon is on my list. I like Tisse Rivoli but I don’t think I need it right now. Body Heat is beautiful but too dark for me and Charlotte Tilbury is not on my list with good brands for makeup. Dior has some nice quints in neutral colours and Sisley mono eyeshadows are beautiful (powder version). Your selection is very good .Thank you for sharing! XOXO P.S. I can’t wait to see you trying the new limited edition Chanel eyeshadow quad. I have seen a review on youtube and is gorgeous. :)

Being a Mature woman I don’t think shimmer looks that great on women over 40 plus because it shows up more wrinkles and to much shimmer doesn’t work on hooded mature eye wrinkles on eyelids. What do you think..Julie ❤️💚💙

I think people forget that different brands refer to different audiences. Indie brands won't tipically appeal to a more mature or classic audience, as well as more luxury brands won't be that interesting for a younger more adventurous audience. I am generalizing of course but to think that just because of the price tag a Chanel or Dior palette should be an indie shadow on steroids is just wrong. Yet that's the main reason why such palettes get bad reviews.... We all have different preferences and the market offers a variety of formulas for a reason

I have to disagree and dislike your opinion on the previous creative director for beauty at Chanel. She renovated the line and gave the permanent line great core color stories, the limited edition runs were where the creative director let her interpretation for color broaden, it has nothing to do with her lack of sophistication.

Hello and thank you for watching my video and sharing your thoughts :) Lucia is a makeup artist that I love especially considering the fact that she is Italian ❤ which is very near and dear to my heart. She started off great and created amazing makeup products for Chanel. Most of my reviews of Chanel's collections created by Lucia have been entirely positive. You can go back and check them out if want. Her first makeup collection for Chanel Le Rouge collection N 1 was a phenomenal success. The following Les Beiges collection containing the iconic Les Indispensables palette was one of the best creations for Chanel. Regretfully, the last two years of her being creative director for Chanel were a bit disappointing. The sales of Chanel went down dramatically because the collections became too repetitive and lacked inspiration and figures didn't not lie. I know very well Lucia's work as a makeup artist since the very beginning. She has always had a very bold style that is fantastic for editorials. However, we must admit that what looks good on the covers of the magazines doesn't have the same wow effect in real life. I'm happy that Lucia and Chanel parted ways because now at Byredo she has a lot more creative freedom than she had at Chanel. Overall I think it all worked out for the best. xoxo

@@Frenchforaday Hi Angela, sure, myself like many are watching content that caters to personal preferences. This video to me is not so much about neutral palettes then it is about a content creator presenting Color stories in chiaroscuro. Which leads me to comment on Lucia Picas so called repetitive releases, which you mention. If you ask me, the pink and red releases were Chanel’s lucrative attempt at offering an inclusive color range. You call it a step away from classic. But the basic consumer is missing the knowledge of color. For example, red and pink are absent in tan/deep complexions, these hues have to be introduced in a nuanced way to liven the skin. So you see, these colors are not Lucia Picas attempt at being creative, it’s her attempt at inclusivity. And it’s certainly not Chanel’s step away from Classic glamour. It’s actually the consumers greed to assume that everything has to be created in their image. As far as byredo, they brought Lucia onto the scene to refine and reel in what the previous creative director in charge had done. Lucia introduced her lip collection with byredo, and it’s a range of natural colors for every lip pigmentation. Lucia is pure class.

I finally bought the tesse ravoli quad and I'm so excited for it to get here . U keep talking about it and I see other people talk about that one all the time too so I just bought it . I'm going to get nude dip in the upcoming Sephora sale , I have wanted that one forever and I love TF wet dry and creme formula. I was thinking about Tesse. essential/ Camila and or Cambon but I was like just try the formula before you go crazy spending all this money on eyeshadow that u may or may not like . But I probably will end up with the other 3 before too long. I also like the Blurry green color story.
