Enterprise Earth - Death: An Anthology is my album of the year I think. Unless Inferi or Mental Cruelty drop something will probably stay that way

Mental Cruelty is one of my favorite bands, and last year their album was one of my favorites. I hope no one releases a great album in a month when I can't include it in the list, because I would be really upset about it.😅

@@umidead hey, but if they DID then there would be new music from them at least! Looking at Inferi's last single (tainted pact) it was in 2023, so it's possible that it could drop before the end of the year. I wouldn't expect Mental Cruelty though.

I recommend listening two groups which albums were first this year "Floscule" and "Waidelotte". Because it is very strange that there are no any grups from Ukraine.

I've listened to these two bands before, especially the album Celestial Shrine, which I really liked. However, this list was chosen with great care and meticulous effort.

Two biggest misses here for me are DVNE - Voidkind and Brodequin - Harbringers of Woe. Also surprised with the bands on here Opeth couldn't crack the top 75. To be honest I don't know how you can legit have a top 75 of just one genre in one year. It's just to much to really properly listen.

You're absolutely right to say that. Some albums need to be listened to more than twice to truly appreciate them. According to the stats I got from Last.fm this year, I ended up listening to nearly 3,000 albums, but most of them only once or twice at most. As for the bands I'm about to mention below, after giving them a second listen, I deeply regret not including them in my list. I wish I could expand my list to 150 entries!

Too much Death Core and no Defeated Sanity or Vitriol. All the post black metal was nice though.

I really loved Defeated Sanity's album, but I didn't include it in my list because the drum sound bothered me. When I was deciding between adding Vitriol and Aborted to my list, I ultimately chose Aborted.
