Fissidens Fontanus is a massive unmanageable mess. The batch I got is a billion small 2-3 inch segments which are super thin leaves and if they hit the flow by any chance it would get EVERYWHERE in the tank and be a mess I cannot ever clean. I wonder if it's a Species different than what you have (which looks stunning). I'll share some pictures

This plant is awesome. I'm going to get the Phoenix Moss for a my shrimp tank when I set that up. I have buce plants that all melted when I started my tank and I thought I lost them all but I just kept what was left and they all grew back with a vengeance. Nice video!

@MJAquascaping3 жыл бұрын
I would usually suggest on the opposite side. I guess that depends a little on the size of the tank and the flow of the filter. Ideally you just want the flow to push the CO2 mist down and around the tank.

Shopping for plants in my area is like playing the Wheel of Fortune if not a Russian Roulette. If you find any plants, the are already yellowing, always the same types. Congratulations! You won a Java Fern and an Anubias. Plant section at Petco is typically littered with empty coffee cups and other garbage. Ordering plants online ends up with getting stinky mush instead of plants. Why is there no emphasis on plants, while they are the best way to keep the tank healthy? My guess is that the fish sold at pet stores don't live longer than a week on average.

@MJAquascaping3 жыл бұрын
Rotala H'Ra is quite easy to grow, but to get it nice and red you need strong light and low nitrates. Hygrophila Pinnatifida is also easy, can be used as epiphyte or planted in substrate Vallisneria asiatica (corkscrew val) easy plants, but really does not like ''liquid CO2'' Alternanthera Reineckii a bit more difficult, definitely needs moderate light to stay short and red.

there's actually 3 types of ludwigia palustris. green, red, and sp red. i recently bought from online shop what was sold as ludwigia palustris red thinking it's same as as sp red but no, it's not same and the plant is like sturdier than the sp red. it's more like purplish dark brown shoot when submerged, when i cut the top then only faint red side shoot appears. it's not like sp red where the shoot will be bright red when submerged. i'm thinking maybe this is the earlier version of ludwigia palustris before the creation of sp red.
