I always enjoy these "getting to know you" type videos because you wind up spending a lot of time with a person, even though it's a video 🙂, and learning about people helps us feel connected. I had to laugh when you said you like to have complete sets of pencils 😅 same here. If it was me I'd go for the Ink Tense set. Every single time I'm at the art supply store I gaze lovingly upon that beautiful tin ❤ Sometimes it takes me weeks to finish a page because I share a crafting space with my son and oftentimes when the table is available I'm too tired from work or life in general. I don't beat myself up for that because I believe it's a very personal journey and I love the process of finishing a page. I've been coloring for about 2 years and I'm really at a point where I'd like to push myself to try new techniques so I'm definitely excited for you to do some tutorials. I started out with one coloring book (and some free printouts from Crayola online) and a set of very inexpensive colored pencils and watched LOTS of KZbin coloring tutorials. The longer I colored the more I enjoyed it (and the more books and supplies I bought!). Love your kitties and that you like thrift shopping! I also really like shopping at thrift stores, or 'thrifting,' and I enjoy donating items as well as shopping for something fun at a good price while supporting a good cause. I appreciate this video. I consider myself an absolute beginner for coloring. The only thing I know how to do is color pretty, just standard. I don't know how to layer or blend or anything of that such. I'm so glad I found your channel last week because your videos are so helpful yet soothing because it's coloring. I'd buy a small set of both intense and the neo colors. That way, you can see which one you actually enjoy more. Then, the small set becomes backup colors when you do get the full set.

This was fun, :D. Congratulations for your wedding and moving. So exciting! I don't have the Inktense, except for two black pencils (Chinese and Ink black), but I do have the Neos. You can use them for coloring as well, if you put them on a palette and pick them up with a brush, as if they were watercolors. On the other hand, because you are used to watercolor pencils, the learning process with the Inktense probably will take less time. And you can always purchase some Neocolors open stock (for example, the most used ones, like greens and blues). I can even tell you which colors are the same (from 84 pastels, there are only 70 o less actual colors and it's possible to reduce the number even more). But I do enjoy using them, even when it's a complete disaster, because they are quite tricky, at least for me. Just love the feel of how they perform. Yeah, a lot to think about: the dress, the pencils. the guest list, the next video... :P Don't get stressed and enjoy the process (all of them). Best wishes from Spain.

@@apicturedpurpose Don't forget to get the masking fluid and some masking tape /washi tape as well. They are like a tooth brush and a tooth paste: 1st necessity items if you are going to use the wet media.

I really enjoyed getting to know you through this video. Some people certainly have a talent for art. For myself my artistic talent doesn't come naturally. I love the process but because I am not a natural I learn through tutorials like yours. I have taught a couple people how to adult color and I have seen them blume and do things with color that has taken me years to get to all because they have this natural creativity inside them. They see things and colors in a way that I can only learn about. And though i wish I had such talent it doesn't take any of the joy I feel just finding my own creative balance. Anyone can learn to color. Some might take a bit more effort than others. Thank you for your video I will keep watching.

It's true, too many books and too many pencils can be overwhelming, resulting in temporary blockage. I have Neocolor II and Inktense, Neocolor isn't that necessary if you have watercolors. Inktense is more versatil, it doesn't behave like watercolor pencils, its ink, so there's a learning curve. It can be used on fabric as well. It's a great medium. Do you have Italian blood? You talk a lot and speak with your hands, like Italians. You're doing great, congrats on the channel!

Hi, I have enjoyed your channel since Karen at my color 😊country life mentioned you. I love her channel she is so talented. I lost my 38 year old daughter 3 years ago . Coloring has really help me to cope with her loss sometimes I cry coloring through it and other times which happens more than lately coloring and not thinking I just focus on what I am doing. I use to be a makeup artist. Maybe that’s what due me to coloring. I would recommend Inktense Derwent but they are kind of tricky to learn at first because it’s ink and you really can’t erase it. What I do is I have had a hard time with blending the water but you can by alcoholic markers and blend them out and it works just as good. I would grab a whole bunch of cheap alcoholic markers. If you can’t master the water thing yet.Also the Albrecht Durer by Faber Castell water color pencil work like a dream. Ut if you want around Christmas Amazon has special. What I want to try is Kingart color sticks I have the chalk color for background but they do get mess. And much like you I need more different coloring books😊. Sorry I made this so long ….but you are doing a great on your coloring and your brave woman because there a lot of people that criticize you. Please don’t listen too that you are a great person 🌺🌺marina

hey babes! I thought colouring over the whole page was going to be really scary too but i did it and absolutely love it! I watered down white matte acrylic paint and it was phenomenal. Everything looks so painterly and it doesn't chip off like i thought. I had the same dilemma with the inktense and neocolors! Hahaha and i have full set syndrome too. I actually went to Joannes ( Arts and crafts store in the states) and bought a few to see if i liked them and thought id get a few at a time i can build my collection slowly.. yah that didn't happen. I ended up buying almost the whole set with the exception of a few that have been out of stock everywhere. So point is... get the full set of inktese if you can then ask for the neocolours for xmas (if u celebrate of course).... I think thats the best idea.. at least that's what i would do. I love murder/mystery books. Im a huge audible fan. I just started First Lie Wins... Do you have any top recommendations? p.s. Congrats to this channels growth! Every time i come back ur subs have gone up tremendously! Dang Woman!

Greetings fr Brissie. Delightful get-to-know you. Suggestion for setting up yr space - Anko products such as folding desk stand are functional and cost-effective. (Just bought it and so far good for my stooping back). Now to find a decent appropriate (bright) light that won't tip over and knock bubble tea over colouring book. Dunno how you source your audiobooks (public libraries are good but waitlists annoying) but YT has wide selection (listen through browser).

I just recently got into coloring books again and I wish I had a dedicated space for that as I have to put away all my coloring supplies if I want to use my pc either for work or just for playing games. I own 3 pencil brands polychromos (60+), inktense (24) and the arrtx 126 set got these 3, because the polys were my first , got the 24 set of them for my birthday or christmas several years ago, the 2nd were the arrtx just to test a bit softer pencil and the inktense are my newest addition :) didn't really test them for now, but I plan to test them in kerby rosanes mythomorphia. And I totally understand the struggle to find a good acrylic white pen...have the POSCA one, but it's less opaque that I wished for maybe I will test the arteza or artistro some time.

may i ask you a question? i follow multiple color alongs (as you mentioned in one of your videos) but I noticed that i find it very hard to color without a color along or a perfect picture because i can't think of the right Colors or the correct placements of them i have too little imagination i guess. Have you experience this after you watched the Color alongs? scared to make your own colored selections ?What to do? I color a couple .of years now, but still i need color alongs 😢

I have definitely experienced this in the past! I found that I just had to push past the “uncomfortableness” and the more you practice without a color along, the less mistakes you will make and the more you’ll learn! Hopefully that helps! Don’t be afraid to make mistakes is my biggest advice 😉❤️
