It's me again ... Winter is comming and there is a tough time ahead for our lodgers and roommates in our flats. Wintersleep like it is in Nature. We have to be patient and very careful. Simply don't overdo anything. These is the best we can do till spring.

Im telling you ..you made me a hoya junkie.lol. I saw a 20 year old Hoya up North of me. In Payson AZ- the nursery owner said it is his wifes and there's no room at their home for it. It was fully bloomed. It was absolutely beautiful!!

Hi do you have cat I see the cat food tray? If so how do you keep the cat from eating your plants? I can't keep my plants same as you keeping low / on floor. I have to put my plants high from cat and it doesn't look nice at home thanks
@julienicole925 жыл бұрын
So I have two dogs. I try to keep most of my plants up high, but my dogs don't really care about the plants. I would try hanging your plants to help keep the cat away, or maybe keep them in certain rooms that the cat isn't allowed in? I know it can be difficult

I bought a Hoya carnosa a few weeks ago and it came in great shape with a bunch of all pink leaves. Well all of the pink leaves have shriveled up and fallen off. At first I thought it was the direct morning sun so I moved it back about 6 feet, but they continued to die! The green leaves are totally fine and there’s new growth. Do you have any ideas as to why this is happening?
@julienicole926 жыл бұрын
So that is normal when it comes to this plant. Since they have no chlorophyl when they are solid pink or solid white they can not photosynthesize so eventually those leaves can shrivel up and die. I do have one hoya carnosa tricolor that has had the solid pink leaves for months, so I think it just depends. But my other one that had solid pink or white eventually lost those leaves.

Probably came over fertilized. Some greenhouse companies in dealing with volume do that and they come looking great and then due right after. Make me furious!!!

I followed your advice, Julie Nicole. This week, I received both my order from Gardino's and the one from Logees. You were the person who recommended both places to me. I now have three new hoyas: H. carnosa 'Krimson Princess,' H. odorata and H. pubicalyx 'Royal Hawaiian Purple'. I also have my first Begonia maculata 'Wightii' and am over the moon with all of them! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. The condition of these plants and their packaging is second to none and I'm already working on my second order to each place! (I just HAVE to get the 'Cotton Candy' Begonia and I've received notice of two other hoyas, which I'm on the wait list for, being in stock again.) After seeing this video, there are three more that I want! Lol! Gardino's should give you discounts or pay you for the additional business that you send them. Or do they already? Haha. Your videos continue to be some of the best that I've seen! Your content & presentation are great. You're never conceited, silly or stupid and it's a pleasure listening to/watching you. (I'm just sorry for the unwanted advances that your fresh look & sweetness draw. Ugh!) I'm still so happy that I found your channel when I did. Two more comments/questions: Where do get those really nice terracotta pots & saucers? I've never seen any quite like those. Also, is there a play list of your videos that you could hook me up with? Thanks in advance. Please continue your wonderful videos. Thanks for sharing your amazing hoyas, valuable information and other plants, etc. with your subscribers. You are great & deeply appreciated. 🌱💜

You would have loved SRQ Hoyas. I got most of my hoyas from there as cuttings but she closed up shop last year unfortunately. I highly recommend Hoya Lasiantha if you want an easy blooming Hoya. I grow mine in semi hydro and it blooms consistently. The blooms look like little hanging bees. Also if you want to see a lot of your hoyas bloom I recommend a hydro tent. I used to grow all my hoyas in a tent over the winter and they bloomed like crazy.
@julienicole926 жыл бұрын
Oh okay! Do you have grow lights in the tent? Also yes I know of SRQ Hoyas, she has an amazing collection! I have been on her site. It's amazing that she grew all of her Hoyas under grow lights.
@carpediem.95 жыл бұрын
Your profile pic looks like Summer rain's profile pic haha Your hoyas might drop off the blooms if it's too dry for them, they do not like having roots in soggy soil, true, but they do enjoy humidity in the air :) also depending on the species you might wanna check out how they grow in their natural habitat and try to imitate that, it can help a lot with the blooming, because they definitely vary from one species to another some like it cool and humid, some very warm and humid some need a bit of sunlight to bloom :)
@julienicole925 жыл бұрын
That is all very true! I actually have had many blooms survive in my home! I think they just needed to get adjusted to their new home :)

Hello Julie, I just wonder if you effer have managed to bloom one of these wonderful hoyas, This is nothing against you but I watched a lot of other Videos regarding Hoyas from other persons.. Absolutely NO-ONE was talking about the wonderful blooms. These plants take a lot of time to blossom. Let me tell you, it takes a lot of time till they bloom. There is no necessity to buy one hoya after another only because of the colouring of the leaves. I really wonder if there is any "Hoya-Fan" out there who experienced blossoms. They smell fantastic but only at night. This is the time to attract insects. The blossoms also produce sweet "tears" which drop on the leaves. When the single blooms dry and drop don't remove the stemm of it because next time there will grow another one.Didn't you experience a blooming Hoya yet?

Julie would you be interested in a Hoya Carnosa 'Gray Ghost'? It's a beautiful silver leaved hoya, a bit on the slower growing side but I an moving and have to down size my collection. I just got some Hoya carnosa rubra cuttings on Etsy and the seller threw in one string bean Hoya. I have been rooting them for about a week now and I’m so excited to get them in their pots!
