I’ve watched quite a few videos now about POD and most don’t talk about all the work you have to put into it. They make it sound easy and that you’ll be rich in no time. You brought up great points and I appreciate your video!

Thank you so much for this video. I am literally in the middle of a marathon on your videos. Pure genuine content. Loads to learn but l am super charged since I finally made my first sale. It was small but that's all I needed for me to understand it is possible. Wishing you all in advance an amazing 2023.

Thanks for the reminder. When I learn about POD yes my goal is to be full time and get lots of money! I’m not there yet but just seeing other people do it has me inspiring but yes.. it’s not my shop and it’s a process to learn how to get those customer connections!

@@MeyTribe yes! That’s the goal. To “own” something I created that is mine. I find POD a great way in learning and getting an audience before branching out. Especially learning about taxes and how marketing works without being too too overwhelming for example an artist starting from scratch with just a product

Hey Mey this is good info, thanks! Just one question, I don't use my photo on stuff I use a logo (and branding), do you think that would work on teepublic or do they insist on a photo? I might be willing to do a caricature or Picasso version of me, but I don't do real photos at all.

Wow! your video was very extensive with too many educational information. and i admire your sincerity of saying honest opinions to how things are truly are. You are a guru professor on POD! You know very well your subject. Thank you for this video. To be honest I was thinking the same thing about making POD my only job. Because it was always my dream to work on my own, at home, and not have to go every day to work for someone else, getting late on the traffic jam in the road, having bosses shouting all the time... I don't want this awful situation. I am graphic designer for many years, i also worked a little bit as a freelancer. But I've never tried to sell anything online. And It was like a dream to do that. That's why recently the last 3 months, that I am unemployed, I am watching many POD videos on KZbin, trying to learn as much as i can about it, to be sure about it, to see the options, and after to start this. So your videos are helpful to me i can say. Also my other favorite youtubers i follow are Philip Anders, Detour shirts, Alek, and Greg Gottfried. by watching many videos it got a little overwhelming for me, and a little bit confusing. But I will put everything in order with my mind. I will take it slowly. :-) thanks for the valuable advice.

Happy you found this video useful, though it is an older video- and a lot of things have changed with Teepublic, and a lot of other marketplaces. I have my own take on "quitting to do POD" especially as a beginner, and that's not something that I suggest people do unless they don't need money for the near future... as it can take a while, especially when just starting out, to get good designs, in a good niche, with good marketing- to actually build this into a business. (and most people who do either make it with a large following, or with their own shops, not marketplaces...) With all that said- best of luck, and also- feel free to join our Facebook community if you want to interact with like-minded people :) facebook.com/groups/meytribe

@@MeyTribe Aw! thank you for the reply! Yes, this is an old video. Thats nice! I will go to watch your next video suggestion of "quitting to do POD". 👍🏼 Actually I don't want to do only POD, I want just to generally sell art, images, graphics, vectors... into several platforms, to create some streams of income. Not exactly as business. For now, I just want to start making €1000 per month, it is enough for me. I don't ask for much. So I will not have to go to work for other people's stressful jobs. And I don't think it is necessary to create large following of people. Many people managed to achieve that without followers. I never liked to do promotion anyway, or any kind of affiliate marketing, or trying to build pyramids, by begging people to buy products that belongs to someone else. It is not my character this kind of approach. I tried it in the past (many years ago) with "World Ventures" a pyramid system about travel. People were trying to force other people to become members under this scam pyramid scheme program, by trying to convince them, forcing them to follow under you, and they should also find other people under you, and pay the monthly fee, etc... By doing that physically there was too many misunderstanding between people Relatives misunderstood each other, friendships have been destroyed, etc.. I have seen these things forcing people to do something they don't want just for someone else to earn money from their money. For me the best thing is to be in BIG platforms which have already alot of traffic and buyers! and stay there displaying your work, and let people buy it from there. By doing the correct research of course, of what to sell, and what people are interested in buying. Not just random stuff. I recently started with Adobe Stock (and it is not easy to get them accept your Ai images, images must be perfect there with many hours of editing).., I will try to enter Amazon Merch as well, because in there is the big fish, many are saying if you manage to get there. So by saying all these which platforms do you suggest to me to enter? Thank you, I appreciate your reply alot. 👍🏼 Shalom! 😊 Aw! I have also joined your Facebook community just now. :-)

Hey Mey! Quick question. I mainly make coloring pages / line art, which I offer on Creative Fabrica. I have recently discovered Shutterstock and I noticed they have about 3.7 million coloring pages on their platform. Do you think art (or coloring pages in my case) might be sellable on Shutterstock too? :)

Thanks Mey for this great video but I tried more than 60 times for creating Teepublic accounts and only 2 or 3 have been accepted , Is there any advice from you for being accepted as artisan. Is accepting as artisan depending on changing the pc or laptop and Ip or only clearing cache files and history helps me ?
@MeyTribe
@MeyTribe 3 ай бұрын
Not sure what to say... You're not supposed to make more than 1 TP account... Creating multiple accounts, especially 60, can result in termination and being banned forever. Getting to a higher rank on TP happens when you market your designs and bring sales in.

Hey Mey! How are you? So I have almost 4k designs on my teepublic without a specific niche and it's earning nice money. Would you recommend to open another Teepublic store? (if it's possible at all) Thanks in advance!
@MeyTribe
@MeyTribe Жыл бұрын
May I ask why you want to open another store if this one is doing so well? are you looking to make a shop that will have a specific niche in it ? As for the legality? Yes, you'll need a different email for it. But note that many who did it somehow got flagged or banned, so I'm not sure I'd risk it.

Some design one per day some 60. I think volume is the key but you need to produce quality as well. 3/day i my personal limit allowing my creative juices going on and still give enough attention to my family. But now as project manager i force myself to continue attleast one design a day. I need the numbers to tell me what type people are more intrerested in and what not. This way i can focus on 20/80 rule.

My favorite? Save your designs! - and - Niche down....which I wish I could if I could figure out what niche(s)/audience my stuff is for... Thanks for a great video these were all really good tips!
@MeyTribe
@MeyTribe 2 жыл бұрын
When I started this channel, I never thought that "save your designs" would be a valuable tip. But, seeing all the comments along the past year and so from people who "lost it all"- I realized it is a good tip LOL As for figuring out your niche... Just look at yourself! What do you like to wear? do you like a certain hobbie? what kind of colors would be in your house if you could design the perfect house? what are the things you are using every day? Would love to know those, BTW, it's not just a "thought process..." Srsly- what do you love doing? having? looking at ?

@@MeyTribe Great feedback, thank you. I think my art (and the designs that result from them) generally reflect the things I like to look at, make me laugh, etc. but I don't know how that fits into *other people's* niches... As one of the Mey Tribe nicely said about my RB store: It has very weird (in a good way) designs... But...they aren't weird to me - they are meant to be generally funny cartoon (with an emphasis on the golden years of illustration styles from 1880-1950 [and Gary Larson's The Far Side...can't forget Gary Larson!]) -to-realism (as much realism as I can feebly muster) drawings *mostly of animals* doing funny stuff. Most of them are really made to 'write your own witty line/name here'. I don't know who would like and enjoy them. When I show a collection of my drawings to other people they always pick different ones that they like the best so it is hard to get a read. I need some external opinions, IMHO.

BTW I love puzzles as well. It would be awesome if you discussed which designs can be patterned to make more or less difficult puzzles (if you've looked into that). Also, you have gone over whether the puzzles from POD are any good have you? I'm concerned about them being boring and/or a one-shot deal (are they all the same?). Looking at the POD listings I can't say I was impressed.

Hi, you say that you can have 10 albums with 10 sub sections, has this changed, I cannot see an option to place a section within an album, and they say now that you can have 60 albums per storefront. Are you aware of this change?
@MeyTribe
@MeyTribe 2 ай бұрын
I'm a bit confused. Yes, now you can have more albums on TP than before, when this video came out it was 10 albums max. But TP never had sections inside an album. Perhaps you mixed it up with me talking about Pinterest marketing for TP ?

I always hear these KZbinrs say "I Create 20-30 designs a day". HOW??? Are they just creating one design and changing a word to make a "I love Grandma", "I love Grandpa", "I love Mom", "I love Dad" shirts? Or are they making unique individual designs? It takes me 1-3 hours to make a "Good" design. From researching and finding the best saying, checking for trademarks, to searching for a good graphic, then laying it out and choosing and finding appropriate fonts. It's time consuming. I cannot pump out a design in 15 minutes unless I just want to make garbage and sacrifice quality for quantity. Am I missing something?
