I just wanted to pop back here and let you know that I have been using this routine for my past couple of wash days... Finally this last one, I SLAYED it (as my daughter would say..). I decided to trust my instincts and left out a leave in conditioner... I used a heat protectant first, left out the cream styler, went straight to the gel. Before all that, I clipped up my hair, got dressed, etc... the applied my products.. sectioned my hair into two sections and did your ribbon curl method, (first time trying.. was not as difficult as I thought it would be), squeezed out the extra water with my microfiber towel, added a bit more gel glazed over the top and then diffused. My hair was completely dry, with a very nice cast, in exactly 17 minutes. Plus, I am still going strong with the curls on Day 3.. I will have no problem making it to my next wash day, either tomorrow or Friday, depending on my mood. Usually by now, I am having to pull my hair back, the curls have gone wild... So this is a huge win for me...

@@nadiaaly4689 It has dramatically cut down on my dry time. It used to take about 45 minutes to an hour with a regular hair dryer with a diffuser, with my Dyson, it takes about 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the products I use to fully dry. I have thick, coarse, medium to low porosity hair, high density, ranging from 3b to 4a hair. It's on the shorter side, right below my ears... Lots of layers..

Her hair is about the exact same length and thickness of mine. So I’ve laid out my product as you described. I’ve already washed and masked. I have my Leave in conditioner 4 in way prep spray Curl cream Wave foam Texture spray And diffuser. It takes hours to do my hair so I’m hopeful this will cut my times down. I have been straightening it for a decade because it was too hard to wear curly 10 years ago but so many products have some out since then so I’m on a natural hair journey!

Start with moving away from your head in the direction you should. When you get to the end of your reach, it really is okay to gently swing forward a little. You don't want to pull very firmly, so you don't disrupt the "set" direction at the base of the hair. Just gently swing your arms.

I take about 30 minutes not including drying time for my shoulder length curls. I air dry and myhair is low porosity so it takes forever to dry

Hey Mel! Thanks for sharing your wisdom! I was wondering if you have a recommendation for a hair dryer and diffuser that is more on the economical side and still effective?

How do I stop my hair from going poofy/frizzy when I go clubbing? (New to looking after my curls and I’m going out on Saturday) I usually straighten my hair for a night out to make it a lil less wild because otherwise I look like I’ve been dragged through a bush after dancing/wind/going out 😂
