This video is pt.1 of the SIGN OFF journey I have had from Munkebo Maersk after a tenure of 7 months all the way back to India.
These were one of the toughest days I have had onboard due to delayed sign off, physical/mental fatigue, unknown arrival dates, VISA formalities, Home Sickness & of course 'THE SIGN OFF' mode.
I have Vlogged my emotions LIVE in this life at sea Episode taking into account that many aspirants or rather sailing seafarers will go through this someday or the other in life.
Hope this gives you all a real-time glimpse of how merchant navy is as a profession & what all challenges we face everyday on the ship.
Merchant navy has various departments & I am from the Navigation department. I have recently been promoted to the rank of a 2nd Officer onboard Munkebo Maersk.
Due to this onboard promotion my watch timings on the ship has significantly changed.

You should look into some heated core clothing to have for cold weather situations. battery packs last 2-6 hours depending on the temperature you have them set at, and are rechargeable via usb. I use them for early season baseball games in Yankees stadium and playing golf when it is cold and they work great and are also light and easy to be active in.
