I really enjoyed it too. My husband is involved in producing energy and the laws that have come up with green energy are really dumb. Do people not like modern life and want to be able to afford it? Also- if a house it too air tight it gets stagnant and so you need expensive ventilation too. Sometimes I think the government is way to involved but other times they don’t do enough- like send $2 million to the south now. Alaska doesn’t have hardly any building codes but that would make me nervous too because anything could have been built

We have been living in a 27 foot trailer for a year (we are supposed to be building a house)and i haven't had an oven. It's amazing how much i missed having one! I finally bought a Cuisinart toaster oven/air fryer/convection combo last week. The first thing i made in it was sweet potato fries, then pizza! So happy!

❤❤❤ your NEW oven!! I haven’t had a REAL stove since 2018 when the 1990’s propane one that was provided by landlord was rusted out & propane tanks removed by previous tenant. I have done quite well with toaster/air fryer oven/crockpot/microwave. I even got rid of my insta pot cuz it was just too big for my needs! PEPPERMINT FOR PACKRATS!!!

Peppermint is great for rodents but any really strong scent works. Whole cloves and cinnamon sticks will work. You just have to smash them up a bit to release the scent. Chai tea bags are great. Just rub them around a bit when their aroma fades and they are good for another month.

Barron that reminds me of the time my partner caught a field mouse. He hates killing anything too (hence our property is being destroyed by a 1,000 f....g rabbits. Anyway this day he takes the field mouse down to the creek and as he is walking back up the hill the mouse is coming up after him, only to be swooped and take As fodder by a lovely magpie. Simon’s was devastated and I nearly wet myself with laughter at the sincerity he shared his tale. I love kind people, truly!

Elsa..Pomodoro. Boil a pot of water for pasta, score whole tomato with an X on top, drop whole tomato into boiling pot until you see the scores rolling away, pluck out, peel tomatoes, rough chop, saute' with basics. S/P, garlic. Add chopped basil at end before serving....there's something about peeling the skin off.

You’ll love your Breville! I’ve had that same one for at least 5 years. Only thing that never worked was the light. Mine runs 10 degrees hot. LOVE it! We are family of 4 with 2 growing boys. I honestly only use my regular oven at Thanksgiving and when baking a ton of cookies. It cooks and bakes more evenly too, and heats up way faster than even my smaller stand alone double oven. It must be the smaller space. We use several times a day. So excited for your journey thru motherhood! My boys are 9 and 12. Seems literally like yesterday they were born.

I have spent 8 years making a garden, now I have fruit of the trees, 6 big garden beds, herbs growing wild everywhere, 17 new trees, a green house and bird netting tunnel over the veggie garden. I had to buy worms and also bulk compost, I live in a desert.

Th most ripest piñon are the ones on the ground that have been released naturally. According to my grandmother who has harvested piñon for many seasons, the pine cones open up and release the nuts when they are ripe. Best to get thick knee pads and pick off the ground. Roasted pine nut might go well with your venison - grilled and shredded. We used thinly sliced roasted mutton or lamb grilled over an open fire and then shredded in Arizona when I was a child. A good snack when herding sheep as a youngster on the Diné reservation in Arizona. Grand Canyon has always been the prime spot for good piñon picking

So GLAD you are feeling good, Elsa (I assume Barron is handling pregnancy pretty well and feeling good -- LOL) ... I was sick for probably almost all of the 1st trimester of my pregnancy, but the last trimester I felt ... like you ... amazing! However, at the very end, they diagnosed me with 4 factors (including the baby strapped across me like a belt and he wouldn't move!) that put me on bed rest and finally did a C-section 2 weeks early ... I had a GIANT baby ... 9 lbs (even 2 weeks early!) so I didn't mind missing out on regular delivery. I hope your experience is as smooth as can be ... you certainly seem to be thriving so I'l bet it will be so!

Off grid instant pot tip for broth. I run mine for 45-60 minutes in morning when sun is strong, say 10am-ish. Shut it off. And leave it on the counter for hours. Say 5pm-ish. Strain into jars, then in fridge. Makes super gelatinous bone broth. It’s like a makeshift crockpot. I do the same with roast. ESP in winter when solar is sparse. Hope that’s helpful!

The little toaster oven/air fryer is also great for baking (potatoes, cooking chicken, etc.) when it's HOT (summer) and the big oven would make the house even hotter. The air fryer makes excellent chicken thighs with the skin on ... the BEST crispy skin. And it was made for frozen tater tots ... we don't buy them often, but they are delish cooked in the air fryer.

I take (2) cups raw hazel nuts and mix em with 2 teaspoons of olive oil & Tamari. Carefully toast em on a pan in the Weber grill, on low, lid closed, tossing every four minutes until nearly blackened. Stick in fridge & eat cold and crunchy = yummy and healthy protein !!! Good for the family ❤❤❤.

Apple cider vinegar and a teaspoon of ginger was my game changer for gelatinous bone broth. just a couple teaspoons of vinegar and it comes out great every time at 3 hrs in pressure cooker. I have the same cooker as you have. Cheers and keep up the great video's.

Brooklyn Gravy (that's what we call sauce) - garlic, onion and basil with tomato, olive oil and a bit of carrot or sugar to thwart any bitterness from the tomatoes. You can also use oregano and bay leaf. Amounts are per your personal taste. Look up Pignoli cookies. They are about $50 for a pound of cookies, but you explained why, with the cost of the pine nuts. Pine nuts are also used to make some pesto sauces. You like arugula, and you can make pesto with that too, but using walnuts. Im so happy that you guys are so happy. Mangia!

YES! We use our Breville for everything! Pies, brownies, roasted vegetables, meat loaf, banana bread, etc. They are so dang handy to have and we re-heat/toast SO much with it, we use it more than our regular gas oven. Breville for the win.

Just a tip from someone who also loves and lives by way of the instant pot, flip the lid over and remove the metal anti-block shield! You’d be shocked what builds up in there! It’s metal with holes in it, it pops off with a thin flat head screwdriver!
