I like this more compact kit. I love how you recycle other products to produce a set up that suits how and where you will be doing urban sketching. Great video for inspiration and ideas.

What size Lamy fountain pen do you use? Great setup btw and love to hear that you sketch in museums!
@vikakvasnik15812 жыл бұрын
Thank you Linda! I use Lamy EF (extra fine) - works well for me! Love sketching in museums, though you always need to make sure in advance that this is allowed, some museums have really strict rules

I can't believe it. I have the exact same kind of sketch kit for visiting the local museums. Are you a psychic or something?

Hi , thanks for your great ideas. Where do u find that waterpot with clip ?
@vikakvasnik15812 жыл бұрын
I got it from an art supplies shop - they are usually in the oil paints section - they are supposed to hold your mineral oils etc, i've seen them in plastic or metal, and with or without lid, with a single pot or often with a double.

У нас в СПб есть магазин getpen.ru, я там покупала. Можно онлайн поискать - видела их в разных интернет магазинах, но названия не вспомню

Could you please tell what StPb museum are sketches friendly? I meet warm and welcome attitude on few museums - Music Culture Museum in Moscow (they may offer you chair or pillow for comfort, and show places out of people flow), Valday Bell Museum which is also really welcome for draw some of expos, and generally lots of museum in Novgorod, but I never trying to sketch in StPb museums. Sometimes museum workers forbid sketching and drawing if they saw you doing this. Also nice kit!
@vikakvasnik15813 жыл бұрын
Oh, thanks for the notes on friendly museums in other cities, really useful 👍The ones that are 100% sketchers friendly in SPb are: Russian Railway museum, Central Naval museum, Popov's Central museum of communication, Museum of political history - they love sketchers! You can also sketch at the Russian Ethnographic museum of you get a special ticket that allows drawing (around 100 rub). I know most of the museum's that have paintings would allow you to sketch there only with 100 000 approvals in written) Generally no sketching at the Hermitage and Russian museum unless you are an art student and approve this in advance

Hey Vika! You said in the first part as well as in this part that you found it quite a challenge to find a waterproof fountain pen ink. Would you maybe tell us which one you use? And there is a really good info by Anne-Laure, here is the link: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5OymGWmhJybY8U
@vikakvasnik15813 жыл бұрын
Hey Vani! It took me sometime to find a really waterproof one, so I ended up with a couple of bottles of non waterproof ink 😁 Then I watched many reviews on KZbin, then this video by Ann-Laure (thanks for sharing the link, and I love her videos, always inspiring), also Teoh Yi Chie has a very thorough and helpful video on ikns - but the ones they were recommending were not easily available in my area and the delivery cost was almost the same as the cost of ink 🤨 Then I finally found one of recommendations locally and I'm very happy with it - Carbon by Platinum ink, this is the one I'm using.
