I have my lumbar puncture next week and I have no idea when my anxiety is going to calm down, I just keep bursting out crying. I would love a fraction of how strong you seem.

It's very intresting. If I can get my health insurance to pay for it in the US, I've started the process, might infuse in September or October this year. I also have never taken another MS drug. Hopefully you're doing well a few years out and didn't need a third course, and avoiding further relapses?

Hi Rhian, thank you for your inspiring videos. I have a question for you, did you test positive for the JC virus? I am thinking of doing Lemtrada, waiting for the results as to if I am positive or negative for the virus, and thinking even if I have it that I will still do the Lemtrada treatment. Just wanted to know if you still did it regardless of being positive for the virus. Thanks

Hi there. I was just wondering how you are doing now after your Lemtrada treatment? I also had active and aggressive RRMS and was diagnosed 7 years ago. I tried 2 DMTS Copaxone and Rebif but still kept relapsing. I had my Lem 4 years ago but currently feeling rubbish again and wondered if you had felt any signs of relapse of progression. I feel pain most days burning, itching and spasms. I developed hyperthyroidism and had to have the thyroid removed recently. I take medication for spasms but I feel I'm really struggling again. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced anything like this. Thanks for the video from Kaylee xxx

@rhiangibson15446 жыл бұрын
Wendy Short Hi Wendy, No it hasn’t affected my hair at all, however, I do have very thick hair which doesn’t get bothered by much. I would advise joining one of the Lemtrada Facebook groups if you have Facebook, they are very good for asking a general question and getting different experiences from people who’ve had Lem xx

I was diagnosed with rrms 2003. I'm currently looking for a new medication. I have been on rebif injections for 7 years now and am now having exacerbations. Did the medication help or did you have to take another medication?
@rhiangibson15445 жыл бұрын
Chrmng 1 I haven’t had any other medications to treat MS since or before Lemtrada. It’s honestly been life changing. It doesn’t improve any permanent symptoms you already have but it is very effective in preventing relapses. I was averaging 3 relapses every month before Lemtrada and since Lemtrada I haven’t even had one relapse so it’s incredible. Of course there are some very serious side effects so I’d always say to do your own research and to speak to your neurologist 🙂 good luck x

@@fademan Some people think MS is triggered by heavy metal buildup in the body, mold and viruses. If you have the means or can save up, it is worth it to get in contact with a functional medicine practitioner or naturopathic dr to work on detoxing from them. Dr. Terry Wahls is also a prominent figure as she was a neurologist who was diagnosed w MS and went from tilt-recline wheelchair to walking and riding her bike in one year by changing her diet and supplements. I still think it’s very worthwhile to look into heavy metals/mold/viruses as a baseline. I’m new to this but fortunately already have that background so am not going to rely on allopathic prescriptions and treatments. I might look into them, but relying on natural methods first and primarily. God bless you on your journey.

Lemtrada has a lot of serious risks, some will appear after several years after treatment. Lemtrada is for patients with MS that failed other therapies. Please try another drugs before Lemtrada. Go to FDA.gov and read about Alentuzumab. Hope you the best.
@rhiangibson15446 жыл бұрын
Sandra Fernandez That is completely untrue. YES you should exercise caution YES you should consider other options but Lemtrada is actually better as a first treatment. I’ve never had anything else and I’m doing great. Yes there are risks but all medication comes with risk. Educate yourself but don’t be put off by this comment ❤️
@saraknits67785 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you had positive results but this person is completely right. It's right in Lemtrada's information. I've had 2 doses. I'm on my 3rd yr and my hair isn't the same, it messed my teeth up and of course I'm still having a nurse come and do my blood and urine test monthly and will be for the next 3 yrs. People need to know this drug follows you for yrs. Also, when I had the infusion I got a really bad rash, which is very common actually and was I'll for months after. Again, I'm glad you had an alright experience but it's not so good for everyone. The medicine does work though...I've not had any new lesions, so you've got to take that into consideration.
@rhiangibson15445 жыл бұрын
Sara knits I’ve said multiple times that I’ve had infusion reactions, bad ones. I’ve been unwell for about 6 months after my second round, I had a horrific rash and welts, and I needed additional medication, the side effects were awful. And I’ve also said about the blood and urine tests too, you speak as though I’m trying to sell the treatment or mask what it is really like, which is not the case. I always stress that this is MY experience and people need to do their own research before considering any treatment. Yes it’s hard, yes it’s a huge thing to commit to but it’s changed my life. As with all things, it’s entirely individual as to experience with the drug, I could have been wheelchair bound by now, and I’m not, so I’m grateful.
@rhiangibson15445 жыл бұрын
Sara knits And the part I refer to in the comment that I say is untrue is this - Lemtrada is for patients who failed other treatments. It’s not. I’ve never had any other treatment at all. Just Lemtrada. So that statement is the part that is completely untrue. I’m not sure what happens in other countries but it’s certainly not a drug for those who’ve failed other treatments.
