Great to see you on your channel, Dan, you were definitely missed here. Such great news, Abbey Road, congratulations! I had my first orchestral recordings here in Manchester 2 Mondays ago, it was a blast, and I am looking forward to the next one already!!

This totally makes sense now that I see it in context. I'll definitely be having a play around with multi-output tracks now. Thanks Dan 👍🏻

Great tip! I use Reaper OTR now I understand how I can use this trick inside that! As it is prerouted in both kontakt and the tracktemplate there.
@noamlitt3 жыл бұрын
Wow awesome idea! Although I don't know if I would choose to incorporate it as part of my main template. Seems to me like it would create an enormous amount of tracks - especially if you are using multiple libraries in one instance of Kontakt. Maybe an efficient way to use this would be to create a separate template using this routing and then import to the project at hand the specific tracks you would want to use this technique on. Anyway really cool - loving your work and good luck at Abbey Road!

It's a lot. I'd prioritise just particular tracks that stand out, like my "live" elements in the example

Welcome home Dan. Ah now I see what a Multi Output is for in this context. Super tips. If you can, I’d love to see your Abbey Rd creative processes filmed and shared on here. Could the Spitfire team furnish you with a 4K Vlog camera? I take breaks from my channel / life / projects sometimes and it’s important to focus and find inspiration. 😁

Thanks, Euan! I'd love to share those sessions too, just need to figure out things like consent etc. If I don't have too much happening all at the same time, I'll do what I can!

@@DanKeenMusic of course, permission is vital. Good luck on the projects. 😁

Hi Dan. Congratulations on your Spitfire appointment and your first session at Abbey Road! Quick question, is there a reason you sent the extra microphone outputs to an auxiliary/bus, rather than just creating a new track on the outputs 2/3/4 you created? Thanks.

My question here is should you prefer this method over the stemming out method: Shorts Longs C & D? Or is there a way to do both?
@rolandguilford83013 жыл бұрын
Hi Dan. Great video! Thanks for the tutorial. Newbe question here. Why it's necessary to assign each channel to different output busses? Would leaving each mic channel output to st out cause limitations? All good wishes to you!
@worldflutes3 жыл бұрын
Great technique, Dan! Do you find that there is a significant cpu hit - in terms of Logic processing - by creating all the different output returns and then routing to the stack? Or does this in fact help Logic spread out the processing among the multiple cores?
@DanKeenMusic3 жыл бұрын
Hi William, loading multiple mic signals will of course introduce more CPU usage, but as each set of signals is running from one instance of Kontakt, I believe this is more efficient than having each mic loaded as a separate track
@worldflutes3 жыл бұрын
@@DanKeenMusic Definitely agree. I was just wondering if the internal routing in Kontakt and the increased returns would cause a noticeable increase. When I tired it bit ago, it didn't seem to. But that was only a couple of instruments. I'll be anxious to bring up a whole template in this fashion, and to mirror it hosting any local instances in VEPro. Thanks again for the video, and best of luck at Abbey Road! Congratulations!

False Charisma, I know what you mean. Well done anyway, the charisma doesn't come across as false.
