Thanks for watching, y'all! Two quick corrections, thanks to Julien (@julien-olivierjok3093): (1) the pair of otters are river otters, not sea otters (great to know/learn!); and (2) the first shot in the bird imagery is of a juvenile baldie, not a hawk (that I knew, but my brain turned off when recording the voiceover haha). Thanks, Julien, and thanks to everyone for following along!

As a Skagit local who often feels like I’ve got nothing to point my camera at, thanks for reminding me that there is still great beauty in the familiar. And also, what the heck?! I’ve spent countless hours and days at Deception Pass and never seen otters! Lucked out on that one.

There are so many unique areas within your general area for sure. I still remember feeling in another world when visiting the Rampart lakes area. With such clear water held in the terraced rock with a clear view of the horizon the memories are still amazing.

Hey, great video ! It's rare for me not to skip bits on KZbin and I definitely didn't on here. Just 2 things, you say sea otters but they are river otters, and the first picture of the bird is a juvenile bald eagle, not a hawk. Looking forward to your next one.
@scott_kranz9 күн бұрын
Julien! Thanks so much for this! Appreciate the kind words. And thank you for the corrections. The otter type - that is something I did not know. And juvenile baldie, which I incorrectly called a hawk - that is something I knew, but I totally blanked when recording the Voiceover haha. Just was not using my brain. But thank you and thanks for watching!

Just stumbled across your channel, and I love your style. I'm from Everett! Dying to know the trail you were on for that first set of shots with the inversion. Been looking for a spot for that closer to where I live and I've not seen a vantage point like that up route 20 yet (assuming that's the "entrance to the north cascades" you were referring to). Edit: never mind. I missed that you snuck it in later 😂 Every time I've been to that location the fog was so dense that I could barely see my hand - I've forgotten all about going back at this point.

Great photos of one my favorite parts of Washington. You have inspired me to get out soon to Rockport to see the annual winter gathering of eagles and return to home via Skagit Valley and maybe down into Whidbey via Deception Pass. Two questions, what highway/road did follow up the Skagit river and did you use any filters (like a CPL) in your exposures? I love the final edits that you made.
@scott_kranz6 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching Don! Hope you can get out there! I drone HW20 mostly. And yes, generally using a CP for most shots, especially those with water in the frame. Hope that helps! Cheers
