When I was a kid many years ago I took a hunters safety course here in the US State of NH. They had us create a survival pack. It had a bunch of essential things like a foil blanket, compass, whistle, knife, duct tape, the blade from a saw with one half covered in tape to cut small branches and take up little space. The one thing I liked the most was we got the strike anywhere matches and melted wax to cover the striker end and put those in a water proof case. This was a good project for me and my dad to put together. I had these for years after my dad passed until some Jerk a lurk stole them from my Jeep. Anyway I liked this video maybe I will make myself another survival kit just for the memories and maybe save my life ;)

This kind of stuff is always fun, especially cool things like that Pelican box. I’d suggest adding an emergency foil blanket if it isn’t already part of the first aid kit, as well as a quality jump starter like the Gooloo 4000A for the truck.

I keep my R40 stocked with cigars. As for my get home bag, I kept fire, water, first aid (2), a fixed blade knife, firearm, and spare magazines. I also keep it stocked with food, water, and a shelter system.

Storing water bottles upside down in the winter. Water freezes from the top-down. So storing it upside down allows drinkable water on top. Also, use a water 'flask' made of skins and wear it against the body in the winter. Also keeps it from freezing. Kit looks good. I carry all of mine in a back pack so I can walk with hands free. I also have a flare gun. About 40 bucks and carry about 9 rounds of flares.

Your videos are great and I really appreciate another woman with a side for adventure, so thank you for your videos! I say the following in kindness: I've noticed your more recent videos have been including more clickbait and it makes me less inclined to watch your channel. Again, I normally really enjoy your adventure content, and I'm sure you already have a large following without having to venture down the avenue of clickbait. I look forward to being able to watch your videos again in the future.

Awesome bag! I really like that case! My old scoutmaster used to tell us to pack what we will need then think about things that you might not neccessarily need but could use,he always said it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it! Take care! Love, hugs and peace!✌

Good job on the first aid kit. Most overlooked piece of gear in a lot of these videos. I go so far as to have some Rx meds on hand in a survival situation. Antibiotics, pain meds, sleep meds, hydrocortisone cream, benadryl, vitamins/minerals (Emergen C type stuff). I also throw in a couple smoke grenades you can find at any fireworks store. Mine also includes stuff for my kiddos.

Great kit and I agree with the comments below of additional items to add. I would suggest moving those items to a 25 or 35L day hiking backpack in case you have to walk home or to safety. Also keep appropriate clothing and footwear to change into for the walk. We don't always wear the appropriate clothing for a long walk when we do our day to day travels.

nice kit, I like that you aren't packing 500 things and it's actually carryable and not too heavy. With that said, I have a few small suggestions of things to add: 1. a few zip lock bags. Great for storing/carrying water, waterproofing electronics if you're forced to walk or camp in the rain unexpectedly, etc. 2. a reflective emergency blanket - small lightweight, I think everyone knows why it's useful 3. contractor (heavy mil) trash bag. Great to use as a tarp or poncho in a pinch 4. caffeine pills or instant coffee, good for morale and keeping awake and alert in case you need to. 5. A bit of cash, you never know when that can come in handy 6. lip balm or vaseline. good for chapped lips obviously, but also cuts & scrapes and usable as firestarter depending on the type you get. 7. a bit of gorilla tape. great for basic repair and tons of other uses. 8. a pair of gloves. your hands are you best tools, espcially in an emergency you need to protect them. None of these are heavy or take up much room, but can add a lot of flexibility and capability to your bag. thanks for great videos as always.

I keep 2 go bags in my Jeep. One large duffle bag with enough stuff to live on for days (think heading down the wrong mountain road in a blizzard) and one small day pack with an old pair of sneakers, socks, sweatshirt and pants and other basic items (think soaking wet and cold). Whatever you put in your go bag, the absolute minimum should be a good knife, a flashlight, warmth, water and food. It doesn't need to be elaborate.

Just a pro tip. Your go bag is an everyday bag. Fairly permanent. Water snack, etc. Obviously keeping sat device powered up and a power bank. First aid kit expanded is really super important. Tourniquets and heavy wound kit in case of a crash or coming upon a crash situation. You need to be able to save yourself and others.

I love darn tough socks. Quite pricey but I wear them every day for work, and they seem to hold up well. I have a watertight tote in my truck that I keep with some similar items. I try to keep my truck maintained but because my truck is 20 years old I also keep extra fluids like coolant, engine oil, trans oil, PS and brake fluid. Other items I have are duct tape, jumper cables, jump pack, tow strap, foldable shovel, zip ties, tire plug kit, air compressor and some misc tools in case I need to fix something and I'm a long way from town. Its alot of extra expense having these items but if you ever have to call a tow truck, they'll pay for themselves if you can fix your vehicle yourself.
