How do you personally deal with customers getting flat tires and needing a tow truck and turo making you pay for tires and for $200 tow fee. What are recommendations to deal with tire issues. How do you effectively deal with tire issues when the guest is driving and messing up the tires due to accidentally running over stuff.
@StefanMarquardt4 жыл бұрын
I take pictures of the tires before the trip. I haven't had any tire reimbursement since the $250 deductible to the 70/30 plan but I heard they don't add the deductible for tires if the host is All Star. I also added roadside to all my vehicles for an extra $5/monthly per unit and they will go out for tire services and will tow within 100 miles for free. If the tire damage was done by the guest and you have before pictures the Turo actually charges the guest the tow fee.
@williammadison5024 жыл бұрын
@@StefanMarquardt so when you say you added tow service for an extra $5 per month per unit is that through turo or through personal insurance. Because I'm trying to figure out way to get the tires fixed when the guest messes them up so that I don't have to incur that $200 fee for a tow which is a bit high in my opinion. Maybe I should look into AAA don't know if they will help but I have regular geico insurance also but don't know if it's a good idea to use regular personal insurance since I won't be at the vehicle when ever the guest does get tire issues. So im trying to formulate a game plan to avoid $200 tow fee. I don't mind paying the used tire fee 40 or 50 bucks but can't keep paying the $200 turo fee. Because I'm realizing turo will side with the guest 80% of the time.

How do you rent exotic and luxury cars to people under 30? Is there a way to switch it to 21 or 25+ instead of 30+? Half my potential customers are cutoff by that rule. When customers under 30 contact me should I just do the rental privately & charge them a little extra plus what it costs to add them to my insurance for their rental period and a $1k deposit?
@StefanMarquardt4 жыл бұрын
Turo probably has good data to support the 30+ age rule. I done rent luxury or exotic cars so that beyond my expertise but I would say get with a rental program that you can sell insurance to the customer. I use GMI and they have a program like I just mentioned. I dont think adding someone on the policy is a solution unless it's a longer term rental but Iam guessing people can't afford those cars longer than a few days tops.

The miles allowed on the lease might be a bit tight but in NY you would need to be a commercial host. Turo was banned from NY for violation state insurance laws or something like that but they just came back recently but like I said, only for commercial host. Jersey still in the game.

@@StefanMarquardt also bro I want to jump out the window and get something like a 2016 S600 ultra luxury v12 performance.. Alot of flossing going on in NY and alot of popping tailpipes.. I want to hire a beautiful girl to be my company rep and have her sign people up in a monthly mileage sharing program. Get like 26 (numbers can be tweaked) people to sign up monthly to have the opportunity to drive a car that would normally be out of reach.. for a monthly membership fee of $250. Numbers can be tweaked. Enough people to cover the insurance and noted which I estimate the note to be about $1700.. once a member of this group you can choose 1 day in the month to reserve your car. $250 monthly dues.. new people can always join and will constantly be scouted for. If 2 people want the same day then they bid on that day. Winner bidder gets the day.. $250 from 26 people a month is $6500.. I'd lease another luxury in the company name and have my female employee drive around to business and car parts shops ect and try to sign up men and women.. they go to the web site or app and join make thier payment and choose available day. Of course drivers license checks will be done ect.. 200 miles each person will get a day.. 5200 miles a month estimate is what the car would do.. 8400 in two month with 10400 miles driven. Minus note and insurance note about 3200 for 2 months and insurance for 2 months let's say $1200 I'm in NYC. Just a estimate.. leaves $4000 profit and considering mileage driven time for some maintenance maybe repairs.. 50,400 miles for the year.. at that rate I'm guessing there would be profit after maintenance and repairs. The car would definitely cover itself but the numbers can he tweaked for definite profit using similar model.. if the car was cheaper for instance there would be more profit.. I know slot of people in NY would sign up for the opportunity.. I think that $250 a day for the month should be higher..
@stackingmoney46234 жыл бұрын
@@StefanMarquardt I also read somewhere that a car depreciates $0.08 per mile I would also factor that $0.08 into into my pricing and how much miles do they use. I'm sure there is a market on turo for people that would like to use a car for a day and only need 13 miles or 20 miles or so.. local trips and errands. How about a turo business model where you only charge them according to miles driven. No daily rate. A miles driven rate at the end of the trip. Charge like 0.68 per mile driven.. so a 20 miles commute to work and back or running a errand of the same miles would cost them $13.60. times 30 people using the same daily mileage for the month is $408. This would have to be a economical car to maintain.. but the daily miles would be higher usage on other days.. this would probably be better off turo because of there split. But maybe you could tweak the listing and put a price and tell the customer you personally give cash back incentives charging 0.68 per mile after they return.. you calculate mileage.. and give them back the difference.of what you had in the listing if that makes sense.. you should look into 2012 Lexus ls460.. those cars are bulletproof. 300k miles on them easy.. affordable luxury to maintain and they drive amazing.. car is a depriaciatiing asset but it can make money appreciate if you just look at it as a tool to bring in money.. if a person wanted to drive my vehicle say 700 miles I would factor that $0.08 into each mile driven.. so they eat the cars depreciation.. if you get 60k in trips from a car that's a extra 4800 by adding $0.08.. I feel like the tell us a car is a depriaciatiing asset because they want to keep our mind frame on worshipping a car scared to let people drive it because it's so precious to them.. in reality it'll eventually be not as desirable is it once was once rust and time takes course.. that's why NY was hating because they don't wanna see people making money without them getting $$ you gotta go start a rental company to make money.. not many new Yorkers will go this route.. only people making money in my will be rental businesses with a lot.. the average dude not gonna form a LLC and take advantage. I know new Yorkers mindset.. the person that takes initiative will profit big.. especially the luxury car route. I rented a s550 2 years old in bklyn a years ago and it was 2 years old a 2012 in 2014.. it was $500 for the day unlimited miles.. that car was out alot.. so I know $500 a day rental in NY with luxury BMW and benz is doable.. if you ever need a person in NY to manage a car here for you and you want to earn $$$ here I can take care of your vehicle for booking.. this is not a pitch for a job.. I'm just a thinker.. I'm just seeing how it could all work.. if you want to venture in the NY market think luxury.. it's money here.. you'd be booked out every weekend guaranteed a lot of dudes getting money here. And they like to floss and exclusive whips everyday.there's a old red Ferrari that somebody's been renting around here in Brooklyn for years I see different guys driving it all the time I see you then rap videos with pop smoke. I see you around Brooklyn all the time different drivers whipping it.. great market but only commercial can take advantage like you said.

I'm afraid of used cars right now. I agree that it isn't wise to keep the car past geriatric age.

Yea I try to get cars that aren't too old but that I can still recoup the purchase amount back in less than 2 years.

When Im done with a vehicle I either sell it myself or I will donate it for a tax write off

What determines the amount you can write off for donations?

I don't think the content of your video had anything to do with the title. The title mentions an exit strategy from TURO. What you were talking about was a strategy for rotating vehicles out of your fleet. That's not really what an exit strategy is and it sure has nothing to do with exiting TURO. I generally like your content but when your video title and the video content are incongruous, I think it diminishes your credibility. Why am I going to listen to your videos when you never provide the content of your title?

Exit turo completely: sell your cars or sell your business with the cars. Video over 👏 But why would I do that? Iam doing 80%-100% Roi on each car.

I wont mess with the 4 cylinders or certain models anymore but the v6 is a solid rental. I rent chevys also but only certain ones.

Hey, just ran across your channel. Why you don't use certain cars?

Floor plan company???? Stop right there sir!!

Turo told me they are working with a company to finance rental units for host so ill share once I look into it. Flooring is great but I still need to come up with the cash when my temp tags expires 45 days after registration but is great in between when I find a great deal.
