Mat, my audi A5 had a similar issue when i took it to france. Nursed it around paris and when i got it back to the uk it was like nothing had ever happened. Turns out there was a oem factory gps on the car and you have to notify the manufacturer when making a trip overseas. Its to prevent cars being chopped and sold illegally. The tracker is located behind the glove box and spliced into the wiring harness of the car. I know you’ve got a lambo but they share the same engine and parts as audi.. maybe this is the reason as to why it’s letting u down?. Ether way i hope this helps. Best of luck

This cannot be true, who the fuck notifies the manufacturer for each trip ? Why would audi bother to do it anyway ? Plus for this to happen it has to be constantly connected remotely to audi , which these cars are not.

If it was an engine overheat he'd see it on the dial though and from stuff I've seen online thats much more likely to cut out and steam, and not want to turn on for a while, he didnt note anything about it being particularly hot or it whirring to try and cool it down. I think its probably electrics since its flashing into limp, but im not a professional.

I'd guess heat, fuel or electrical related - as after stopping for a while, the car starts and runs OK, until it stops again. Was it getting worse/stopping sooner each time? Plus it gets very cold in the middle of the sea, so the "damp" could be (frozen) salt water condensation. You have a bespoke car, so its not surprising it's got a few teething problems, but you can't analyze it properly without a laptop to connect it to = bet you never drive it long distance again without a laptop. I had a Hillman Imp once that would stop after a while - couldn't figure it out. Had bought it from my Dad, who said it was a fine car with no problems. It stopped on night in Bristol, so he drove down to rescue me, by which time the car was fine. I took his car, he took the Imp, and for the next few days it was fine. Then one night it stopped on him. He got it recovered home, and tried everything. As a last resort he took the carburetor apart, and found what could only be described as very smooth marbles. The Imp had a very low air intake, and we lived in the Cotswolds - so it was basically very fine Cotswold stone dust that had been sucked up by the air filter but stopped by the carb filter, that had got bigger and bigger until they stopped the fuel flow. You never forget the reason behind a difficult fault - Good Luck!

Had a similar experience to yours in a 3.2 Audi, stuck with an unfashionable issue that I couldn’t get my head around and overthinking the problem. Managed to get to a local village mechanic who, in broken English said always start with the simple things first. He disconnected the battery for twenty minutes while we drank coffee, reconnected stated the engine and guess what, the rest of the 1500 mile trip was faultless. You two take care of each other. Peace Out ✌️

When dealing with an issue you have to retrace your steps, what have you done different? 1. Put bumper on - so go back and systematically go through that process and check everything you touched / changed etc - 2. What difference does the bumper make? - heat and airflow ? check what electrical sensors are in that area that could be overcome by heat, - it makes sense as soon as you leave it for a bit then start again it’s ok? .... had time to cool?

I would assume its a built in tracker from way before u owned the car and is hidden in side normally behind the glove box most cars that are performance cars have to be tracked and have built in shut off mode once out of the country even if its not being used any more the only reason I know this is I used to work in a commercial body shop and that's what I got told by the tracker man that used to come and remove them and he had tecs that said they removed the trackers but didn't and only later would find out easyist way to find out is to order a piece of kit of line and scan the car with it to see where the tracker is as most high end cars have been more than 1 built in a lambo I would assume would have 2 or maybe 3

If it was the bumper/ roof box it would have played up on the way to Portsmouth. It’s playing up at low cruising speed so I doubt it’s the heat in Spain. (Marginal at best) Was the car tampered with on the boat? Wrap the Vodafone tracker in aluminium foil, so it can’t pick up a signal therefore unable to pinpoint where you are. Worth a try! The starting point with any fault finding is to ask ‘what’s changed since it was working?’. You’ve gone to a different/warmer country and before setting off you also added the rear bumper for the first time since fitting the turbos. Could it be that it’s just too warm around the engine with this combination in a warmer country and it’s zapping the electronics/ECU or causing fuel starvation? What about removing the bumper and going for a test drive?

Possible loose air hose from the turbos? I had similar issure turned out a loose tube had popped off near the intercooler. Air flow meter doesn't read correct air flow then ecu cuts into limp mode. Good luck!

No idea but seen a couple of R8’s advertised within the trade recently that the customers have spent a fortune twin turbo-ing only to sell within a few months and they don’t want big money for them. Was tempted at one for myself, but possibly they are never right when done? I always say most modified cars are ruined. On the track days I’ve done it’s always the modified ones breaking down, and it’s always the “upgraded” parts that have failed. The standard ones go round and round all day so I’d be looking at something along the turbo work do be wrong at a guess

Sounds like a fuelling issue when under load. That or, the perimeters are all out of wonk after fitting the turbos and hasn’t been re-programmed correctly. Ideally, you need some live data and see what’s going wrong when it goes into limp now & help narrow it down otherwise it’s purely a guessing game. Keep your chin up pal and enjoy your holiday👍🏼

The problem is that you installed two turbos on a perfectly fine NA engine and rendered the Lamborghini an unreliable vehicle. Turbos are fun but there’s nothing like the performance, feel and sound of a big NA engine. Some mods are just not to be. ☮️

Being as you’ve thrown several suitcases of money into the project so far, can the company that did the work courier you a laptop and dongle and try to get a live link fix … I’d watch the stream! Would be a good advert for their after sales care too …. You get it fixed, they get a shoutout and you get some more views! Daft afterthought is the roof box doing any weird aero malarkey and screwing up the airflow on the induction? Thermal cutout because there’s also no airflow with the bumper on? Overeager factory tracker? Or is the car just having a holiday as well?

My Golf GTi did something exactly the same, ended up being a faulty MAF sensor. No warnings or anything. Unplugged it and the car ran perfect
@brubru6819
@brubru6819 3 жыл бұрын
Clean MAF Sensor The MAF sensor controls the air-fuel mixture in your car, and it can often become dirty, especially if you have an open-air filter. Dust and dirt on the MAF sensor will often cause it to send wrong values to the engine control unit, which may result in limp mode. Check & Clean or Replace Air Filter The air filter makes sure that the engine always gets clean air without dust or dirt. If you have not replaced the air filter in a while, it can be so clogged that it will cause problems with the intake air

Perhaps whilst you are away, get your mate to send the equipment you need for them to remotely diagnose the fault, just a thought…. Lambo looks great with the bumper on. All the best with the rest of your trip.
@_andytang_
@_andytang_ 3 жыл бұрын
My guess is the bumper is restricting air flow to the turbos causing it to run too rich, so the MAF or O2 sensors are dropping it into limp mode.

It’s all part of it mate. At least you can see the humour in it! I left a c63 at the airport and when we got back off holiday with my wife and baby, battery was flat as a pancake. Luckil they got it boosted with a battery pack so I was straight on the phone moaning saying they left the lights and owe me a new battery… turns out it was the front Sam module draining the battery - must of got wet when cleaning the car 😂 be careful with that jetwash people

Gif Gaf had not activated the roaming on my sim card on my alarm system and when the car tried to connect to a European network it had all the symptoms of yours. I locked it. Rang Gif Gaff. They sorted it. I left it for one hour. It was fine after that. Enjoy your holiday mate 👍👍
