I'm very happy that you're back here. Ridiculously, for a 78 year old Englishman I felt much of the tension you did when you were opening the letter with your passport in and had tears in my eyes when you cried with happiness at the result. Welcome Back Alana: sorry you've had such an awful year.

Hey Alanna, you may recall me saying that my nosey wife was asking when you are coming back to the UK? Well, my nosey wife (and I) are thrilled for you. Sorry about your father - but isn't it strange how life has a way of making sure you are in the right place at the right time? Those last few months with your father were meant to be...... Chin up, be strong, you have an army of UK fans fighting your corner, now let the next adventure (or nap) begin.....

Losing your Dad i wasn't aware of but having lost both my parents a few years ago now( i'm very old ) i can pass on a little of what i learned . You'll think about your Dad and you'll cry then laugh then cry lots more Then you'll think about him and you will cry and then laugh a little more and cry a little less Eventually the laughs and the fondness you feel for your dad will overwhelm the sadness of his passing , you'll still cry but the love you feel will be the overarching feeling more and more Time is a great healer is a cliche for a reason Welcome Home Alanna

Just an FYI but it's 'ado' not 'adieu'. :-) It's hard to imagine how she feels if you haven't gone through it. I spent a year in NY (from England) but always knew that there was a definite end, as it wasn't a permanent move and I had my better half with me. Or more accurately, I was with her as it was her job that took us there. That doesn't come close to what Alanna must be going through after several years. I suspect, as she's only just back, that reality hasn't hit her yet.

Incredibly brave to put this on KZbin. I salute you. You can tell by her reaction, she loves Britain (more than some British!)! I was stuck in America when my Dad died, on Christmas Eve in 1996. The Earliest flight was after the funeral, so all my family said "just come in the Summer, like you normally do". It was tough though.

That sofa reveal was such an epic twist! I don't know if I've ever felt this much joy before for a complete stranger on the internet, or laughed so hard over the sound of a garbage truck. There may have been tears on this side of the computer screen, too ❤️So very glad for you!

I am so relieved for you, don’t know why but my heart sank when you became emotional and expected the worst then the screen went dark and then.... jumped to your sofa. 😂 Welcome back to Blighty! 👏👏👏

It's great to see you back in front of that grey couch Alana. I missed a few of your posts over the summer so I wasn't aware of your Dad passing away. I'm sorry for your loss. As you say, it was good that you were able to be there for him. You know that sincere tears whether of sadness or joy never need excusing. Watching you open that letter was terrific. I was on complete tenterhooks for you. And your reaction....! So - Ms. Alana in Kent - WELCOME HOME!!!

For those who think Alana stays in the UK alone, no, she lives with her partner. She did mention that in some of her previous videos. Welcome back home 🏡 🇬🇧🇬🇧

Not sure about her having a partner she lives with, I know she did in the early days but she really gives the impression of a single woman who lives alone though it would explain part of the emotion.

@@larrybxl5406 You seem to know something we don't. Without specifics, however, we have no way to confirm the veracity of your statement, so it will have to go in the "unconfirmed" drawer. Personally, I believe the UK will benefit, in however small a way, from Alanna's contributions to our society, some of which she has referred to in a previous video. I don't speak for all Brits, but I know I speak for many when I say that it is good to have her in our country.

@@marklowry8799 She explained recently that her partner makes the thumbnail images for her videos, using selfies she provides together with (it appears) some solid graphic design skills.

@@larrybxl5406 Alanna does indeed have a skill that is in great demand in the UK but is generally sadly lacking from the native UK peoples - a willingness to work! 😁
