Good setup - May i ask how you fit in the red filters to you lens
@MatthiasLebo4 жыл бұрын
It's an old red filter from Inon, which I simply stick in front of the camera lens using some sticky tape. Not the most elegant way, but it works. 😉

Hello, I just bought a GH5s and nautical housing based off your set up! I would like to purchase wet lenses for my camera but I can’t seem to find a link to what port you have on the front of your housing, as well as what lens you have on the camera inside when you’re using wet lenses on the outside. Can you shed some light?

Great setup! I hope I will be able to participate in one of your courses with fantic soon. I'm using a quite similar setup as well, I just don't have a monitor yet and I'm using the GH5 instead of the GH5S. I really like your videos and hope to learn more about underwater videography. Thanks Jan, glad to hear that. There is some courses I will be giving at Fantic in June. Have a look at their website. Would be cool to see you there... 😊 fantic.ch/index.php/events-und-kurse/april-juni-2018

Nice video! Would love some more information about what ports and lenses you are using. I am using the naticam wacp on my a7iii. I mostly record big animals (orcas, whales, seals) or in bad viz. I find the lens hard to focus and I would love to have some more fov. Do you have any recommendation for maximum fov with a7 iii?
@MatthiasLebo4 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. 🙏🏻 I use a 12-60mm Leica lens with my GH5S and this port here: www.nauticam.com/collections/pf-36058-36129 This makes the system very versatile. What lens are you using on your a7iii? Ever though about using a Wet Wide Lens? They could give you up to 130 degrees FOV. For example: www.nauticam.com/products/wet-wide-lens-1-wwl-1-130-deg-fov-with-compatible-28mm-lenses Hope this helps. Cheers Matthias

@@MatthiasLebo I am using the Sony 28-70 lens. I am getting about 130 degree FOV. But would love even more. Maybe I should look at the WACP 2 port. I am also concidering switching to Canon R5 depending on reviews and prices..

@@MatthiasLebo Good evening Mathias I just discovered your very interesting channel. I also have a GH5 I do not work with the 12-60 but with the panasonic 14-42 PZ. what is the advantage for you of working with the 12-60?

Thanks for another great video. We dive with a similar setup for our GH5s but have a different connection for the Ninja V. What type of mount are you using to secure the Ninja V housing to the camera housing?
@MatthiasLebo4 жыл бұрын
Thank for your feedback mate. Really appreciate it. I use a tailor made bar that gets attached to the housing and then a ball-point mount and a clamp to attach the Ninja V to the bar. Something like this, but obviously made for the GH5 housing: www.uw-foto.ch/en/2691/fantic-buegel-zu-nauticam-na-a7ii-unterwassergehaeuse?fbclid=IwAR2N4tAgvTlYfoBHKZb6RDSoUebA1x8JkOcw6V3oTUYkAhCtO5AbkjKvkA0

@@MatthiasLebo I also noticed in your setup the Ninja V mounting using the Fantic Buegel. Seems to be more stable as the default Nauticam mounting that tends to unscrew all the time. What 1 inch ball clamp are you using? It looks different from the usual ones.

is the cross bar you use to mount monitor custom or a brand?

Looks like a high CG with the rig on your table as opposed to the underwater shot which looks like a good CG.
@MatthiasLebo4 жыл бұрын
I had to adjust the rig compared to the one you see in the video (underwater) because I've added the external monitor. The easiest way to mount the monitor and have a fairly balanced rig is to use such a mounting bar in my opinion. Yes the CG is higher with it, but because the monitor has quite a bit of positive buoyancy, it compensates quite nicely for the positively buoyant acrylic dome port. So it actually works quite well. 😊

Do you use a red filter with your setup?
@MatthiasLebo2 жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely. Unless I'm really shallow (5m and less) I always use a red filter, it just makes the colors turn out much better.

Hello Mathias,thanks for sharing and explaining your Setup!I have a quite similar one, but with the GH5 instead. I am considering switching to the GH5S, for better low-light Performance and being able to reuse the Nauticam case.What is your experience with the missing in-body stabilization, auto-focus performance and the underwatter white-balance of the GH5S?
@MatthiasLebo4 жыл бұрын
Auto-focus and WB are the same as with the GH5, I can't tell any difference there. The missing in body stabilization is noticeable when shooting in longer focal lengths (i.e. macro). On wide angle shots I don't miss the IB stabilization. And for more critical shots, I normally switch to 60p and slow the footage down to 40% in post. That helps a lot getting right of slight shaking. The much better low light performance of the GH5S easily makes up for the missing IB stabilization in my opinion.

Hi Matthias I am interested in buying a monitor like this exactly what battery do you use for the monitor asks because of the weight and whether there is a positive or negative buoyancy?And another question is whether after color correction you lower the quality to HD instead of 4k
@MatthiasLebo4 жыл бұрын
Hey buddy, The batteries I use with the Ninja V are standard Sony NP-F750. The monitor unit has quite a bit of positive buoyancy. And yes, I usually output in FullHD rather than 4K, because most of my content is viewed online and on mobile devices, so outputting 4K doesn't really make much sense for me.

Hello Mathias. Hoy much is the Maximum ISO you use on GH5 in vídeo sub to be aceptable? Thanks very much ?
@MatthiasLebo4 жыл бұрын
On the GH5 I personally wouldn't go higher than 1600. On the GH5S with its dual native ISO you can easily go to 6400 maybe even 12800.

@MatthiasLebo4 жыл бұрын
