So many cultures have been vegan for years and they're really healthy and their food is bomb (Indian, some east asian countries, Loma Lindaetc)

I’m so happy for you Adrienne. My husband and I do meatless days 3 times a week. We are flexitarians. If we have meat it’s either turkey, fish or chicken. But it’s rare. We’re going in stages, we are trying to reach vegetarian status, then the ultimate goal is vegan. Looking at your journey is encouraging.

Yesssss lentil soup is so bomb. Nobody made it like my abuela, but I’ve never had a bad lentil soup. That yellow compliments your skin tone and hair color so well! Love it ❤️❤️

My Uncle is vegan and I love making him desserts. I made chocolate vegan cupcake and for thanksgiving I made pumpkin spice vegan cupcakes and they were so good. You would have never guessed they were vegan!!!

follow your heart is my jam and their ranch and thousand island dressing! OMG... but daiya has stepped their game up in the Cheddar cheese. But their American has always been bomb.

dont, its worse for the environment..depleting soil and monocropping is not the way... a cycle of life is the way, we are stewards to rumenant animals, factory farming should be stopped but taking animals pasture land is BREAKING the cycle

Is not the same but I've just finished 21 days of Daniel's Fast and I must confess that eating green and fruits only made me feel my absolute best. Thinking on keep the habit.

I wouldn´t recommened to only eat veggies and fruits for a longer period of time. 21 days is fine but over a longer period you will develop digestive issues - however try to keep eating loads of veggies and fruits everyday!

@Marie Adams. I’m getting ready to do the Daniel Fast. I’ve been praying about it and studying it. I’m mostly plant based now. I think 21 days of totally plant based will put me in the right place mentally and spiritually

@@glendagrigg5112 Hi, Glenda. God bless you, thank you so much for sharing this with me. I'm beyond happy to read that you're about to start this beautiful/spiritual journey. It was my first time fasting with the allowance of eating and I can't explain how GOOD I was physically feeling. Remember that fast is a spiritual process and I advice to never do it without feeling God's direction since is been said at Isaiah that fasting is a way to brake spiritual things. I advise as well to find out first what you can eat (you'd be surprised) in my personal case it was not about being hunger all the time, instead being limited to eat certain things only because I was feeling anxious and almost food addicted by eating more than 10 times a day. My final advice will be make a list of each of the reasons why you'd make that sacrifice and choose 7 days for certain purposes, 7 for others and so on, this will make you to have in mind all the time the exact reason why that is happening and when tentation comes you'd know that what you're praying about has a bigger and deeper value than food. Most importantly: pray at least one hour a day together with the fast besides your regular devocional. You'd see God's hand. Hoping I can read how it when once you're done. Besitos Xx 💋

I'm no longer vegan but I am plant-based + I enjoy it. before going vegan I was flexitarian (semi-vegetarian) + that's pretty much how I eat now but I don't consume dairy or red meat. being vegan for 2 years opened me up to healthy eating in ways that I am so thankful for. like you, I have to keep inflammation in my body down so clean + intuitive eating are key for me.

Adrienne!! We LOVE you!! I healed completely from my Thyroid after going Vegan! I told my doctor I want to stop my meds for 6 months--she agreed with monotoring. I ate 2 cucumber, 2 tomatoes, 1 organic apple and 2 Brazil nuts everyday. 6 months later my Thyroid was 3.5. I am off medication after 20 years! Thank you for sharing your story! Love The Real💕💜😘

I been vegan for over 10 years, I look younger than when in my 20’s all the health issues I had are gone from uterus fibroids to thyroid problems and hormones issues all gone on plant based diet, I meet my husband 3 years ago and He had high blood pressure and cholesterol also 35 pounds overweight, he is been vegan for 2 years and goodbye 35 pounds and hello six packs, and no more medications, he looks amazing and loves the incredible abundance of food as vegan 🌱 we bought cook very delicious 😋 so is been a delicious journey

I am not Vegan, but as you expressed Adrienne, I am not naturally drawn to meat. HOWEVER I love greek yogurt and honey. So what I do is just maintain a balance between plant based foods and the foods I naturally am drawn to. My favorite plant based recipe is my Lentil Curry. I add a ton of veggies, cilantro, and lime. It's the best!

They have vegan Greek yogurt and honey. Additionally, they have Agave if you want to try even more plant based foods 🍃🐇

I would try silk yogurt, it tastes better without the cruelty. Dairy free is also best because it doesn’t bloat you. The dairy industry rips the calf from their mother.

@@theveganmodelo9383 My brother is Vegan and therefore we eat an abundant amount of plant based foods and vegan alternative foods. My father also works at a dairy farm and I am aware of how the industry can be. Luckily the only dairy I crave is yogurt. My gut has been A+

I started my vegan journey in may 3rd but "fell off" when I had a regular cake for my birthday (that was it though). I felt so bad but I decided to continue with this journey because I really do want to make a lifestyle change to better myself. With my few weeks of being vegan, I realized that I honestly don't miss meat at all. I didn't realize how unnecessary they were until I started this journey. I still have my rice & peas, ground provision, and all the kale, okra, and fruits I want😂

I went plant based in 2018 and I lovvve it! I did it to help with inflammation and it’s really changed my life. I love how good it is for the planet and my wallet! We save a lot of money on groceries. Don’t let people tell you being vegan is more expensive. Meat and dairy were the most pricey things on my grocery list. If you focus on veggies, beans and fruits (not meat and cheese substitutes all the time) it’s super affordable! So many good ideas in this video.

You are so right about the warm lemon with water. I am not vegan, but this really helps digestion...even with meat dishes! I don't plan on going vegan because I really need the protein and iron from meat, but I do limit it to 3 or 4 dishes a week. Congrats on your journey!

@@TheElysian7 Absolutely I can never be vegan I feel like it's so fake especially with the meats it hurts my stomach and all the nuts are killer and Causes inflammation and has a lot of oxalates I rather eat meat small amounts vegetables and real food and no fake cheese or none of that stuff I don't even have dairy bread or fake chicken or fake meat it really hurts my stomach fresh organic and natural is the best for me

@@karinagarcia3702 Vegan does not equal eating fake alternatives. All these fake vegan products are not meant to be eaten all day everyday and you honestly dont need them in your diet.. A whole food plant based lifestyle is how you thrive ie vegetables, fruits, legumes, grains etc.. to say you can never go vegan is a shame and honestly whats the point of eating fresh organic vegetables and foods etc if you are then going to put dead animal flesh into it which is known to cause all kinds of ailments down the line..there are so many benefits to cutting out dead animal flesh and besides the momentary taste you derive from it, there really arent ANY benefits to consuming it..

I have rheumatoid arthritis and this video couldn’t come in a better time. I’ve been trying to start but for me the hard part is the diary part. I love milk and cheese and eggs. But I’ll try your tips.

Hi Adrienne. I have recently transitioned to the plant based lifestyle. I was so sick and in and out of the hospital. My primary care physician suggested that I try this lifestyle change to avoid having bariatric surgery. Ever since I’ve been eating plant based foods, I’ve been feeling better physically. I have been vegan five years so far and it's been great! I went vegan after heart surgery and have switched the makeup, bodycare and homecare things that I use to non toxic vegan. I also wear vegan clothing so nothing I wear is made from animals. I plan to stay vegan for life. I also plan to live sustainably and grow most of my own food.

Wanna try something that gives everything a zing, try a product called “kuchula” (not sure of the spelling). It’s a type of seasoned mango relish from the Caribbean. You can use it as seasoning to prepare foods like meats but it also takes great in sandwiches or to spice up bland foods.

Its Kuchela, comes from Trinidad and it's a mango with spices. We use it a lot in our meals here! Glad u enjoy!

Inspirational video!! Love the options! Thank you! My go to snacks are nuts, apples with peanut/almond butter, rice cakes, guacamole, hummus with cucumbers and cherry tomatoes, etc! I love that you mentioned the sides on a menu because that's exactly what I do when I take my children to a restaurant that doesn't cater to Vegans. I too have hyperthyroidism, and I made the choice to become Vegan for a healthier lifestyle. I am loving my results so far! Thank you for suggesting, and sharing your Vegan life with us! ❤

I was once broke 😂 so I was eating only salads without the dressing and a squeeze of lemon, of course I dropped weight but after returning to the things I used to eat my inflammation tripled so I stopped all dairy and grains though focusing on seeds nuts vegetables and I would occasionally eat fish or meat sometimes lentils; It helped me go easy on my stomach and all sorts of bloating went away especially from my face. It turns out I have a jaw after all I was just bloated from the cheeks and neck before 😂

I loved being on a plant based diet. Then I got married. On my honeymoon night I had chicken wings! It was down hill from there. Lol. Getting back to it slowly. When I remember why I started the diet, it is making it easier to return to that way of eating. No more stomach pains!

I went vegan for my hubby who had a brain tumor removed and was advised to go vegan. I hated veggies but loved my hubby. I have learned to eat the veggies. Some are not my favorite but still I can eat them now. It helps to have a partner and do it together. My hubby is a great cook. I fine the recipes and he creates magic in the kitchen. We found soy curls which are dehydrated soy beans from butlers it really changed the game. You season them just like meat. The benefits out weigh the things you miss. Great tips. Another we do is if we go to someone's house we take a dish of something with us so we know we have one thing to eat. Of course, we never have any of ours left over.

Love this Adrienne! As a long-time vegan, I can vouch for Hello Fresh. Very tasty, simple to make, and fun to recreate. The only con is that the serving portion is too small for vegans as we tend to eat more food. Your last piece of advice is absolutely golden - you HAVE to listen to your own body & be intuitive of what you want and don’t want. This is one of the only ways (along with knowing your WHY) one will stick with this lifestyle, and it is SO rewarding. I’d also recommend visiting any vegan festivals - just google it, attend, then thank me later! 😂

I am a vegetarian (7 years and counting) who is transitioning into a plant-based lifestyle. My tips are buy/keep your own food in the kitchen. Be firm about your eating habits and teach them even when they don't want to hear it. I did this and now a lot of my family are now vegetarian or vegan! All of my immediate family is!

Be careful with veggies in places like steakhouses bc they’re usually cooked with butter. Also lots of salad dressings aren’t vegan so just ask :)

Adrienne. I love that you decided to make a change to include a plant based menu. I have eaten plant based in the past, then went back to eating meat, but now I am vegan again since new years. This time around I feel so much more confident about eating plant based. I literally feel amazing, excited and happy about what is on my plate again. It helps me a lot to see that you're also eating plant based. Please please continue to put up more plant based related videos or recipes that you like to make or eat. Or take us along with you to Vegan restaurants. (I love love love Gracias Madre, even though it's bougie). Health is so important and you are definitely on the right path. Love you girlie!

Hi Adrienne, I to have Hashi, definitely it has been a roller coaster. I have been doing the medical medium 3 years, I have reversed my hashi and was able to be off the meds. Definitely an improvement in my health. Consistency is key, plant based also gluten free. Love your videos and recipes. God bless.

i've been vegan since 2007. like you, i don't crave meat but i still crave fish sometimes. i've noticed the fish cravings happen when i'm not eating well balanced meals, so as long as i eat a whole food plant based diet, i don't get cravings. you're right, it's not easy... you have to do a lot of meal prep but it's worth it. i loved you already, but now that you're vegan, i love you even more! if one day you decide to no longer be vegan (hopefully not) i will still love you! nobody is perfect. do what you can and keep up the great work! xo

I love plant-based meals and I've even gotten my family to replace ground beef with mushrooms when they make their spaghetti. It is kind of hard but so worth it. Darius cooks have a great salad dressing recipe I love. Chao cheese is good! Daiya melts great! Nachos is another great meal to make! I'm big on sweets and now magnum has dairy-free ice cream bars and it's amazingggggg!

You absolutely have to try and make beetroot and carrot soup from scratch it is amaaazing. Boil your water, take the skins off 1 beetroot 2 carrots and dice them up and add some extra virgin olive oil and some seasoning to your liking. I usually like to put in some dried mint leafs, bay leaves and oregano with salt and pepper. Once the vegies have really softened up and your knife cuts through it easily, take the bay leafs out of the pot and drain the vegies into a blender and put in 3 cups of the boiled beet & carrot stock into the blender and blend till it comes to a smooth consistency, add more stock if needed! At this point its optional but I like to throw in the tiniest bit of butter but you can use something alternative to your liking. On the side i like to boil a quarter of cauliflower in a seperate pot and once done I centre it in the middle of my bowl of soup and add freshly chopped Coriander and stiry fry pine nuts+walnuts+chopped almonds with some olive oil asa topping on my soup.. If you love Beetroot and carrots, youll love love love this recipe! Love from Emine in Australia! So great to see that you have accomplished your goals and that you have done it with a plant base lifestyle! That is so helpful not only for your health but also for the environment and the animals, and I love that you are helping spread the word. HOWEVER, as a vegan for 6 years let me give you some tips. I know you are trying to lose weight but please keep in mind that you should be eating enough calories, taking into account also that you are exercising. Please consult with a nutritionist and count your food intake and your macro intake, many people stop eating plant base because they develop problems related with low calories intake, remember that plant base is usually less calorie dense, so please make sure that you are eating around 1800 calories or more which is what is usually recommended for women excercising and maintaining regular activity. CONSULT WITH A PHYSICIAN, I cannot stress this enough. Consult if you are eating the right ammount of food necessary, if your macro and micro nutrient intake is on point, remember that your health comes first ALWAYS. On another note, please make sure to supplement B12. Since you recently started a plant base diet, most likely your b12 stores haven't run out yet, it takes a few years for them to do, but B12 is EXTREMELY important for congnitive function so please make sure to supplement. I usually take 1 or 2 tablets a week depending on the concentration of the brand. ALSO, if you are drinking alternative milks make sure that they are fortified; yes, we do need to ingest calcium but we don't need animal by products for that. Usually fortified foods have calcium and vitamin D in them. Make sure to eat calcium rich foods such as white beans, collard greens, etc. I would recommend also using a vitamin D supplement just to be sure. Vitamin D helps calcium absorption, so if you are not getting out enough or just for prevention, get a vitamin D supplement to make sure you are metabolizing all the calcium you are ingesting. One last thing, I know you are not eating refined carbs but make sure you do eat carbs as a macro nutrient, whether it's from whole grain pasta or rice cakes. We need carbs to function so don't disregard them and try to follow the macro nutrient breakdown recommended by a health organization or directly by your nutritionist. Sorry this became so long, I hope you find it uselfull :) Have a happy plant base day!

I really enjoy hearing your vegan journey!! I love how your inspiring and motivating people to not give up on their journey as well 😄. My biggest issue is that the majority of vegan substitutes contain tree nuts, and I am allergic to them 😢 so I would be missing a huge source of protein. Even though a vegan diet would not work for me, I supper Adrienne and everyone else who is considering a plant based diet 😄😄

There are a lot of vegans with nut allergies! It's definitely not the biggest source of protein. Beans, lentils, lots of other foods are full of protein. A lot of the substitutes now are also nut-free. There are lots of soy-based cheeses or the Daiya cheese is nut free. Look into it!
