Y'all bring Tab back to the room. I really enjoyed this segment sharing easy vegan recipes for meal prep. So many of us have hereditary conditions that could be fixed or alleviated by modifying our diets. Our parents or the home we come from don't know everything about healthy living so it's so great to get advice from people who have tried and tested these methods and who have been living a healthy lifestyle. @Luke's baking channel I have a similar situation to yours But my mother would be more acceptable with me going vegan as she is aware of animal abuse and health benefits. What I suggest is when you and your family watch tv you could show them a documentary about going vegan Or prepare a presentation if that doesn’t work if you don’t already make your own food you should start So maybe you could cook yourself vegan lunches and snacks and have the food including meat that your family makes Maybe start with stuff like pescatarian. Good luck:)

Is this a race issue? I'm white and as far as I'm aware, white people love meat and many won't be converted to vegetarianism. I think meat eating is pretty universal, unfortunately. I am trying to go veggie - may I ask you Mrs Magical Monica - what kinds of vegetarian meals do you make most often? I live alone and I'm not much of a cook, so I would love a few reliable, easy go-to supper ideas if you have any up your magical sleeve, lol! Thanks in advance.

Hey, glamdolly20. I would not label it a “race issue” but more of a cultural difference. Lately, I have been making a lot of dishes in my Instant Pot (soup, curry, mashed potatoes, pasta). Video transcription+my own recommendations (if you don’t have rice cooker) sauté onions+garlic+butter/oil in pot add quinoa & toast on med heat until golden brown add salted water or low sodium veggie broth cook according to package instructions (mine is ~15min) grain bowl: baking sheet of chopped sweet potatoes (w paprika, cumin) baking sheet of broccoli baking sheet of peppers baking sheet of chickpeas (chili powder, paprika, cumin) sprinkle all w garlic powder, salt drizzle w neutral oil roast for 20-25 min 425°F is best for roasting, these veggies roast at slightly different speeds so check halfway bolognaise: food processor-celery, carrot, onion, garlic (i add zucchini too) process walnuts & set aside add to pot w drizzle of oil, parsley, basil, oregano stir while prepping sauce for grain bowl process basil, arugula, salt, lemon juice, water, garlic, walnuts, olive oil into a sauce transfer to jar mix tahini, water, lemon juice, salt, maple syrup in jar once veggies are soft, add a lil tomato paste until it’s golden brown add veggie stock, minced walnuts from earlier, tomatoes (i like diced canned as well as fresh), salt, lentils stir and cover reduce heat, let simmer for 35min boil water for pasta tofu scramble: crumble tofu into pan low sodium soy sauce, nutritional yeast, garlic powder, pinch of black salt, turmeric, black pepper once cooked, add spinach mixed greens (put paper towel on top to keep fresh in fridge) -spinach/spring mix, cucumber, carrot, tomato, hemp -i like to add any extra quinoa, seasoned w lemon pepper add red wine+salt to bolognaise -red wine substitute: red wine vinegar & water in 1:1 ratio let cook down for 10min add pasta to boiling water -salt the water like the SEA sweet potatoes w tofu scramble & roasted red pepper quinoa, chickpeas, broccoli, half w sweet potato, half w red pepper, half w pesto, half w tahini sauce noodles w bolognaise on top & side salad -substitute w veggie noodles -add pesto sauce on pasta -mix roasted veggies w pasta

I love her meals they’re so easy to make and not all these weird superfoods that I can’t afford. Also they’re really balanced which is so important in veganism. Unfortunately a lot of vegans on KZbin don’t do it well and almost treat it as a way to restrict themselves😑

I need to tell people this! I injured my back pretty severely 6 weeks ago. I've been in A&E twice, 6 doctors, physio... the pain was not subsiding. I listened to Tabitha and been plant based (plus fish) for 12 days. My physio told me he couldn't believe the difference in my inflammation. I'm so shocked, I'm still on the mend but I can vouch for this! Plant based works for inflammation!!!

@@johnh.6548 That's not what they meant. We can do yoga as much as anyone what was meant is its become so popular with white people that when people in America picture yoga or vegan or whatever they think of it as a "white person thing" when yoga and veganism and whatever is for anybody in reality. Now as for 90 minutes not so much and I’m pretty good with cooking timely. When cooking alone and having to prepare all of the vegetables I was well into 2+ hours. Those sauces are to die for. “White people that do yoga” LOL as a Mexican American my family gave me so much crap for being vegan. They weren’t mean but would make fun of me and stuff. Their diets are not healthy at all because authentic Mexican food can be very unhealthy. So much meat. Thankfully I’ve been able to convert my mom to a 90% vegan. She I my eats meat on Sundays when we go out with family for dinner. Out of everyone in our family we are the ones that get sick the least. Coincidence? I think not..
@Oke-lc8yg4 жыл бұрын
to be fair, meat isnt the whole problem. mexican food can sometimes have a lot of carbs and unless you cook with good oils it ends of having bad fat and certain mixes of macros can be bad for the body. meat by itself isnt the bad guy, it really depends how you prepare the food. but everyone is different, so its great that this works for you and your family
