Great video. Do you have plans of making an updated video of your vegan skincare routine? I've switched most of my self-care to natural products and I think you might like the brand Tree to Tub. They are cruelty-free and make great natural products. I also thought stinging is a sign that a product is working but I didn't experience them when I switched to Tree to Tub :)

Hey Caitlin! I have a question for you. How much do you allow other people's food choices to affect your relationships? Would you ever date a guy(or girl) who wasn't vegan? Do you have any non vegan friends? How do you manage that?

I tried OSEA for a few months and for some terrible reason, it didn’t work for me! 😩 I still recommend them to those who ask for cruelty free skincare, though, because they seem to be an awesome company. I’ve never heard of Franklin & Whitman before, so I’ll have to look into them. Thanks!

Sadly Osea didn't work for me either. I think my skin is just too sensitive and dry and I live in a cold dry climate, so I think they would work if I lived in a warmer place where the harsh winds and cold wouldn't dry out my face :)

Thank you I became a vegan about a month ago after being a vegetarian for a year and a half my skin started cracking very badly on my hands. The skin gets tight and cuts I end up with several little cuts on my hands that start to heal then cut open again. M skin feels like dried glue on my hands except I can't peel it off. After exhausting all other reason why this might be happening I came to the conclusion its because of me becoming a vegan I thought I was just dehydrated but it never occured to me that I might not be getting enough sleep or eating healthy fat. I will try this because its just been getting worse.

@---sm6ve

Jaiden Hart how do i know a product is cruelty easily? Is it cruelty when it says dermato tested?
@haneennasir1465
@haneennasir1465 6 жыл бұрын
No dermatologically tested does not mean cruelty free. There is a few way you can find out if your product is cruelty free: 1. If it has a leaping bunny symbol or PETA's cruelty free logo or it will directly mention on the back that it is cruelty free. If none of those things are there check online to see if the brand is cruelty free (here is a good site www.crueltyfreekitty.com/list-of-cruelty-free-brands/). Another note if a brand sells their products in china then it is NOT cruelty free because animal testing is required by law in china( so this includes brands like Maybelline, Estee Lauder, Clinque, Benefit and here is a list www.crueltyfreekitty.com/companies-that-test-on-animals/) so do not purchase from these brands. I hope this helps! and don't worry about it we all make mistakes but it just teaches us to do more research before we buy other products.

Thanks for your routine! I have to pay mire attention to it. I use clay mask, toner and exfoliants. Good idea with steam. I need a good moisturizer! My skin was very glowing before I went whole foods (((( now I cannot handle oil and nuts - it results in breakouts (never had acne before). I wish I could eat whole fats, but...
@CaitlinShoemaker
@CaitlinShoemaker 6 жыл бұрын
When I drastically reduced my fat intake, my skin would break out as well. However once I started including more fats in my diet on a regular basis, it got WAY better and healthier-looking. There was just a ~2 week period where it got worse, but then better after!

Thanks for leaving me some hope. I experimented for a month eating a half an avocado or a handful of nuts almost every day. Didn't get better. My husband experiences dandruff from nuts and seeds. So what would you suggest should we keep on trying further?

I can’t imagine using all these products. Like I have neither the money nor the time to be buying all these and using them everyday, twice a day. I have one face wash, one serum, and one moisturizer i need when the winter hits. I have a face mask I use once a week and my skin is great. Idk if I just got really lucky with my skin or if all the girls who make these videos are exaggerating the number of products they use and the frequency they use them. Is this just me? Btw this isn’t an attempt to bash your channel in any way. I love your content but this video raised some questions for me in general 👍

"what you pay for is what you get" is really inaccurate. "what you pay for is the brand name" would be better. You do not need to buy expensive skincare to have good skin. I buy pretty much only sukin and Swisse brands (aus based) and have never paid for than $20 for a product. They're both mostly vegan and all cruelty free, even carbon neutral and most of their products are $10-$15. iHerb also has great natural cheap products. Don't think that because you're on a budget you'll never have good products. Just have a look around. And Caitlin it'd be nice if you didn't say things like what you pay for is what you get. It's very discouraging to people and is really not true

@jess2533
@jess2533 4 жыл бұрын
Sukin is actually full of fillers, synthetics and low quality ingredients. It’s got to be one of the biggest green-washed brands on the market. They are cheap for a reason...plenty of companies make cheap vegan products but that doesn’t mean that their ingredients are necessarily pure, organic or good quality, and that matters. Anything that you put on your skin washes down the drain later, and into our waterways. Yes, there’s a bracket that you can exceed in terms of money directly relating to quality, but Caitlin’s not wrong. Generally what you pay for is what you get when it comes to skin care.

Casey Conner So true 🙌🏼 mental health is so important yet is so often overlooked when in comes to skin health. Although stress isn’t bad in my opinion -it’s purpose is to help us when we are in physical danger. We should learn to love and accept ourselves, stress and all. Love and kindness is the answer 🙌🏼 🧘‍♀️❤️

That is you giving away your secret to your outer beauty but I think inner beauty is more important but being vegan tells me and other men that you have a caring, compassionate personality. After all a man or woman can be attractive from an appearance point of view but it shouldn't be the personality of someone you find attractive should be considered.
