My Vents Smell Like Sewage!

Recently we had a customer schedule an appointment with us and she said when she put her face close to her air vents she smelled sewage or dead animal. Today Ramon gives some possibilities on what could be causing the smell.
Possible cause of a sewage smell #1 is your indoor coil drain pan. During the summer months that drain pan is constantly wet and can build up some growth. The mold growth from the coil drain pan can dry with a sewage smell.

Possible cause of bad smell #2 is your floor drain near your furnace. The smell from a floor drain can get picked up in your air circulation throughout your home so clean it by flushing with water.

Check if a sewer vent pipe is INSIDE your return airstream if a plenum return
