Did sewer for a year and a half in the USA. It’s amazing the things you find in sewer drain pipes. Once found a penny from the early 1900’s in a 6in clay shared line. Never thought I could handle poop until I had to do it for a living. Ended up loving it actually

Had this happen to me 13 years ago. My husband and I purchased our first house and one day the toilet clogged. I plunged and plunged and couldn't get it out; I also tried a toilet alger and that didn't work. I ended up pulling the toilet and discovered two things. i at first thought it was a toy that had gotten flushed but it was one of those toilet refreshers (I have not bought one since) and the toilet had spider cracks in each of the bolts holding the tank to the base. Needless to say, I ended up just replacing toilet and haven't had a problem since.
