Hi, my name is Kayla and I have a stutter. Living with this disfluency for years has been pretty tough on my mental health. BUT- I found that music, specifically songwriting, helps me to express myself in ways I feel I've never been able to. In today's video, I talk a little about my experience with speech therapy and the very first song I wrote about my stutter! Hope you enjoy this kind of intimate, sit-down chat with me :)

I'm sorry you had to go through all that of being like a science project I can only imagine how bad it made you felt to just consistently talk and people just stopping you to tell you how to do things. But I'm glad that you're healing from that I think it's amazing how you're embracing it rather than being embarrassed about it. I think your thought process on "there's no magic pill." it kind of the same way I think about life. There's a lot of things I wish could just change but the change starts with how we view things and the fact you're using your story to hopefully show others that they can also find a gem within the rough. And the story behind your first song is amazingly beautiful :) Glad to have found your page and on this journey with you!

thank you so much for your kind words 😭 even though i’m a small creator, i still get a few comments saying how annoying it is to listen to me talk with all the umms and filler words- even though i can’t help it lol. it’s sooo refreshing and beautiful to see people like you enjoy my content for what it is and look past any disfluencies or flaws🖤 i appreciate you

@@CHATTYBRAIN Of course thank you for being so vulnerable to the world to in hopes find other people who have the same issues or find other people who relate to push them to do things they aren't comfortable doing and embrace it!
