I think for what I want to do one needs to keep it basic. You should be able to repair or replace quite easily, without needing to stop the trip. Glad you agree😁

Now that Campco is making a swag (R3750) in South Africa you can go even a bit simpler. Setup your stretcher, pop the swag (it takes 2 minutes to setup and breakdown) on the strectcher. My camping setup is slightly more expansive for 2 people: 3m x 6m ground sheet 3m x 3m Tentco canvas tent (R1900 on a takealot special 3 years ago); big enough for 2 stretchers and house the battery pack and camp freezer/fridge for long stays and bags. optional: 3m x 6m PVC gazebo with sidewalls for long stays adding a 1.8m 270 swing out awning to give coverage on the back on the SUV

From the 2nd battery in the back, that is charged by the solar panel. My car battery is not connected to the system
