@Jordan B I can finish the story. I worked there from January 2020 to June 2020. I quit to go full time in wedding filmmaking and I’m doing extremely well these days. As for the post office, I hated it. I worked 12 hours a day sweating my ass off or freezing my ass off walking north of 15 miles a day. No days off. I hated it.

Richard Richardson I’m sure a lot of people would love to hear a longtime update from you as a regular, and even if covid 19 has affected regulars. I’m curious in general what time you clock in/ click out as a cca- vs established regular. Also you mention you make less as regular because of less overtime. Can you be a regular and still request to work overtime and get 10-12 hrs as a regular? I’m coming from a nigh shift job so I don’t care how many long hours I work as long as I get to sleep at night lol

Excellent news, Richard. Congratulations. It's a great feeling to have your own route and you'll do well on it. I've been on my route in Durham NH 03824 for over 9 years and I've gotten to know many of my postal route customers and watching their kids grow up and many other changes in the time I've been doing the route. You can stay on the route as long as you continue to work for the postal service, but do bid on other routes if you want or need a change. You do look quite professional in your carrier uniform.

Hello, I know it's been a while since you've posted this video. I actually watched all your usps videos and thought they were great, super informative, and encouraging, unlike other usps videos. I have 3 questions I hope you wouldn't mind answering when you can. 1) Are you still working for USPS? If not, why? 2) From the time of your orientation to the time you received your own route, did you get any pay raises? 3) What was your starting pay as a CCA, your most recent pay, or last hourly pay amount? Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences! It is so appreciated, I'm currently waiting for my fingerprints to clear before I can start training as a CCA in the Los Angeles area. I'm really excited bc I have no children or husband and loads of free time

1. Yes, I still work there! 2. I think I received 1 cost of living raise. Not sure how much it was and those don’t happen regularly 3. Unfortunately, I’m not totally sure on either. I think I started off around $19 an hour and I think I make like $25 an hour now

Appreciate the videos. Working as a package hander currently was offered a CCA job at USPS. Although I would prefer UPS long term, I'm considering taking it because I cant afford to work part time much longer. I've been told I'll be driving soon for UPS for a long time now and am not sure what to do. Take the USPS now, or continue working at UPS, HOPING something will come my way. From what I've heard its also really hard to make full time as a UPS driver and they will disqualify you for just about anything during probation period...

@richardrichardson7972
@richardrichardson7972 4 жыл бұрын
Leandro Huerta I honestly don’t think there’s a difference. The size of the office is what matters. The smaller the office, the easier the job is typically.

How easy to transfer to another city/state?
@richardrichardson7972
@richardrichardson7972 4 жыл бұрын
Justin Uptmor it’s very difficult unless you’re a CCA. But it’s easy if you’re pretty open to transfer anywhere (speaking if you’re a regular). But if you’re specific as to where you want to transfer, it’s very tough and crap shoot.

So how have your paychecks been since converting? I have heard you actually make less as a new regular because loss of overtime/higher insurance/retirement.
@richardrichardson7972
@richardrichardson7972 5 жыл бұрын
Ryan Schofield I make WAY less as a regular. I was making $1,000 a week after taxes as a CCA, now I’m making about $600 per week after taxes as a regular
@blue99saturn
@blue99saturn 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but you were working 12 hour days 7 days a week for that pay with no benefits like you have now. You get health insurance, retirement benefits, a pension, vacation time, sick leave, an 8 hour day, 2 days off, no Sunday Amazon to deliver, regular step wage increases every 46 weeks, COLA pay increases, general wage increases.
