Very Impressed with that maybe you should fit them for decoration in your garden and show them at night. Obviously with the sounders covered so it doesn’t upset the neighbours lol but very impressive!!!

Will can I just say I absolutely love this video and I love the way you rewire everything and I don’t even know how you get those wigwags from!😍 you should get LED wigwags and a working barriers as well and that way you get a level crossing feeling! Honestly Will, I don’t even know how you get it working!? Great video!😊 absolute loving the project! Wish I had it as well!😂

This is great to see. I still need to buy and make up the electrical circuitry to power my one, so it's interesting to see your set up with Arduino and relays. The wig wags must be so heavy. My GEC wig wag was missing its backboard, but I opted for a sheet of ABS as it was more lightweight than replacing with steel sheet. Mine was also originally 230v AC, but each light had its own transformer to step the voltage down to 12V for 50W halogen capsule lamps.

Wow Scriven, amazing video mate, can’t wait to see these for myself in person when I come over, you’ve really got stuck into this and made it as amazing as it can be, very realistic. Them Arduino things are also so clever, amazing that people can get there hands on them, and that they work for these too, I’d love to see that signal in operation one day too. 😁

I know I've said it before, but what an excellent grab there Will! Lot more bolts holding the front half of the light heads on 'em, lol. Any manufacturer markings on them, BTW? Honestly glad you've got two variations on these classic wigwags, lol, and you also have a white-bordered one you can watch at anytime you want, lol.
@FlashingRedProductions3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! 😁 There’s no manufacture markings on them, except on the filter lenses - they read “GEC Traffic Automation”, although for some unknown reason the red lenses on the white bordered wigwag were made by an Austrian company, even though the amber lens was made by ‘GEC’.

I can’t understand why Network Rail stopped using halogen lights if they’re as bright as you say they are. Wouldn’t it be great to use these as a burglar alarm! Any potential burglar would absolutely 💩 themselves not just at the alarm, but also thinking there’s a train coming that they can’t see!
@FlashingRedProductions2 жыл бұрын
They may look bright in this video. But how bright they look just depends on the angle you look at them, as well as the light conditions - if sun was shining directly from behind or in front of them then they’d be more difficult to sight. I believe that’s why LEDs are more favourable I’ve halogens nowadays, and not to mention that halogen bulbs use more power than LEDs do.

@FlashingRedProductions3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! 😁 I used an Arduino UNO (which I programmed using the code I wrote up on the Arduino software), Arduino wires, solid state Arduino relays, an AC/DC adaptor (24vdc), and some clip-in terminals to ‘multiply’ the wires for each light. Bought those parts from Amazon and eBay.

Thanks! 😁👍 I’ll probably keep the clip-on borders on (for now) as the white border underneath has peeled off since I first got it (the picture of that wigwag with the clip-on border removed was taken around a year ago). I may restore the red and white borders though at some point because they’ve faded a fair bit.
