i love this. i am in my 4th month of locs. i started mine myself with two strand twists and interlocked my roots. before locs my hair was 22in and super curly and i kept my ends curlty while locd. i am loving locs more though. =)

Heyyy TYSM! In the beginning I was washing every 2-3 wks I think…but it turned to 4 weeks soon after. On my “2 year Loc Update” video I talk about all the products I use, hope this helps 🤗

Pls post an update, your locs are so beautiful and give me inspiration. Question 1: What's your maintainance routine?(i.e how many weeks do u go inbtwn retwist and do you maintain your locs yourself) Question2: How did u stay without having protective styles(braids, faux locs, marley twists...)? I find it so difficult to stay without doing one protective style or the other and its thinning my locs.

Hey! Thank you so much 🫶🏾 update coming soon I promise! 1. Now I got 6-9 weeks between retwist. I try to push for at least 2 months every time. Yes I maintain my own locs. 2. I just had to get to the point of embracing my locs in the stages they were in and how they look with or without a style. I have a sensitive scalp in general so I’m not big on protective styles, I just prefer them free and with little to no tension.

You and your locs are gorgeous! Healthy and thick. Question: did you blowout your hair before you did the 2 strand twist? Do I have to use gel and/or product? How did you get the curly ends?

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that 😊 I didn’t blowout my hair before starting my locs, just washed it and did the twist while it was damp. I used a gel to start my locs, now I use African pride loc gel for retwist, but it’s really more of a jam like consistency. My ends were naturally curly at the beginning so I didn’t do anything extra. Hope this all helps 🫶🏾

So right after taking the styles down I would notice they were more compact, but after washing them they would go back to the normal size (thickness)

Thanks, I'm so confused about this styling not styling debate, I'm only 3 months in and so far I've been retwisting my own hair but would like to try a loc style , my fear is ending up with stringy thin locs

Thank youuu and congrats on your journey! 🤗 Honestly when it comes to edges I feel like it’s about the right edge control for your hair. I doubt you’re doing anything wrong, just gotta find the right product. I use the edge booster brand, maybe try that one and lmk.

Hey, no they never turned green. And because my tips still go back to the light brown color after I few months, I do touch ups with the black. But not often at all.
