Great point about pixels!! I saw Clyde Butcher talk about how he took an iPhone pic and blew it up to 4’x 6’ on his pro setup and it looked fantastic. His work is amazing, a living Ansel Adams.

Thanks. I like learning what others use. I bought a tactical gun gear bag for my cameras & equipment. Thought it would be a great bag. I got all my gear together today, was going to lump it all in one bag...then realized that the bag alone was too heavy empty. It was heavily padded. Then I realized -- OMG!!!! I LEFT MY THIEYE T5E GEAR IN THAT BAG!!!! OH! You just saved me with this video! I just rushed back to the store & there it was! Still in the bag waiting for that bag to be restocked! Fate! You saved my day! Holy shit!!!! Or is that glitter shitter! Whew! I am going to have my personal melt down now...thank you, thank you, thank you!!!📷

I am by no means a professional photographer but I'm going to pass on a little tip that has served me well over the years, for those who might be interested. I've taken my camera equipment camping in tents, campers and on boats. To store it in a cool dry place I put in a latching cooler. This worked very well for me. It stayed considerably cooler stored that way.
@donwyates5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, reminds me that Tom Petty wrote a song when recording with The Travelling Wilburys advocating storing your gear in a cool/dry place. It's an important thing that most people don't give a second thought to. Also, controlling condensation due to temperature fluctuation.

A cheap piece of Luan plywood would make that backdrop look a lot better. I'm not being critical, but it's seriously 8 bucks and maybe $4 worth of stain. It's like a 16th of an inch and would look like mahogany or you could paint it any color you wanted instead. There's stuff called hardboard which is what clipboards are made out of and that could be painted easy too.

Way to go Casey about camera manufacturers. I too have a Sony alpha camera that I use to shoot everything, but portraits. I use my 15 yr old Canon 5D Mark 1 (Classic) for them. Folks should practice on their phones w/manual control apps, then look into a stand alone camera.

If I did it all over again, I would have bought WAY less gear. That being said, I initially researched and came to the conclusion that Nikon was the best camera system to go with and then I realised in USING it, that Nikon is not an ergonomic fit for me. So i shoot on Canon (I'm a portrait photographer) and my kit which is mainly a Canon 5DII and an 85mm, 70-200 and now a 28-85mm lens. The pixel peepers would scoff at my kit now, since it's old - but it does exactly what i need it to The best camera is the one that you USE to the best of it's and yours ability ;)

You can buy a cage with a built in holder for the audio adapter on amazon for $15 which is convenient. Btwn the gopro & my phone, plus the obligatory dji drone for those sweet millennial, man bun wearing, avocado toast eating, daily latte drinking arial shots.... i am good for most of my shooting. Lol. But i do wanna get a better lowlight camera. The SonyRX100 cameras are pretty sweet...but don’t have an audio jack. Why Sony why? Hopefully with the next update this Summer. I like your channel. It's the right mix of practical, funny, and insightful commentary. One comment about your use of slr and dslr. You aren't using those terms correctly. SLR and DSLR are both the bigger cameras with that large mirror that flip up. SLR are just the version that use film and existed before digital sensors. I don't actually know much about the type of camera you use, but I think those are generally referred to as mirrorless (double check this though).
