You have rekindled my interest in historic homes. Familiarity has me nearly forgetting I live in an historic home. In the late 1800's our house was moved! Twice! Because of all the different floors and moldings added over the years, doors covered over and re-opened, I lovingly refer to it as a Frankenstein house. Now, because of you, I have to go dig deeper for more historic tid bits. As if I wasn't busy enough! Another great video! Thank you for your effort.

Thanks for the great video. Appreciated the jail tour; the trap door reminded me of an episode of The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, when he had a Hollywood stunt man on - who hanged Johnny. He explained that when there was a hanging, the executioner was open to taking money from the accused's family, whereupon he would slip the knot to the side, and thus, the neck would be broken and death would be almost instantaneous. Without the money, the noose would be to the back of the head, and the death would actually be by asphixiation, which would take 45-50 minutes, and involve a lot of time twitching and jerking. Of course, the stuntman put Johnny's noose to the back, and of course, Johnny faked being dead... then came his mischevious smile. Thanks for "reviving" that memory.

Great video on Natchez one of our favorite towns in MS. One of the more interesting facts is that it is the start of the Natchez Trace, a trail/road that runs all the way to Nashville. It is a National Park Parkway with an excellent 440 mile drive and campsites along the way.

If you are into southern Plantations, there are MANY more down the Mississippi on both sides in Louisiana. Nottoway, Oak Alley, San Francisco, Houmas House... top notch. FYI, my mother made... built.. "did"... 90% of the draperies in Nottoway... so I'm a little biased.

Interesting as always. We have a cliff at the back of our (1854) house with the same age houses built above too. The posh houses on top are called 'Top Row' and we live on 'Bottom Row' or 'Arse Row' as a mate of mine calls it. Yeah, Natchez, Vicksburg similar history. Port Gibson, in between them was captured by the Union Army and then general in charge said the city was too pretty to burn. (Thankfully). Absolutely stellar moon shot over the water and bridge!!👍👍👍 WOW! Other fun facets. Cokeacola was created in Vicksburg, Ms. at a drugstore. And Jerry Lee Lewis was from Ferriday, La where you drove to get the moon picture.

I was watching Good Morning America when I started your video. Being a man, I can only do one thing at a time. Obviously your video was the winner and the TV went silent. Love the deep South and its history. Have driven through the area numerous times hauling freight years ago but was unable to stop and enjoy due to the size of my rig.
