Hi Jen, Thanks for sharing your journey as I'm currently on mine. At 5'3, I was a school athlete, Army veteran so course I know what my body is like at my best. Depression/grief from my fathers' passing has me ballooning at 270. I just finished labs today, most of my check list is done. All that's left is psych eval, endo, and meeting with my surgeon and nutritionist this Friday. I'm super lucky to have a supportive husband, even though he still thinks I'm beautiful, he understands this journey is important to me. Did you ever take any of the 'classes'? I'm attending an emotional eating class today via Zoom. Not required but I know it'll be a great tool.

Hello Maria!🤗 I’m sorry to hear about your father.💔 I can only imagine the devastation. I’m so happy that you have such a wonderful husband. That support system is everything. Yes, I took anything that Kaiser offered. However, they seemed to mainly focus on protein and vitamin intake while explaining the negative affects our body will have if we don’t follow the guidelines. All great info but I needed more than that. I remember thinking that I have to do a lot more of my own research because I don’t eat meat annnnnnnd no one was really equipped to elaborate on any of the activity questions I had for them. Depression and emotional eating are a couple things that still challenge me. But, they are nowhere near what they used to be.🤞🏼 We are all works in progress!🥰 I’m super proud of you for starting your journey and going above and beyond the required classes. Wow. ..over 100+ lbs...incredible...I've lost 52 lbs since April 13 post op( Sleeve )....I need 15 to 20 more lbs to go before my Loose Skin Removal Surgery... You look absolutely beautiful ❤❤❤

I’m six months out. I have a hardness and “pouchiness” in my lower abdomen. Did you experience this? Did your abdomen get flatter with fluid loss as time goes on?

Congrats on your first six months!🤗🎉 As for my pouch, I’ve had one since both my kiddos were C-Section babies. It’s still a pouch, just squishy loose skin though. My upper abdomen definitely got flatter. I don’t think it was fluid loss as much as it is the loss of body fat. So if you look at my body profile, it’s similar to the shape of an ant. 🤭 (It’s in my Loose Skin Video) But I’m ok with that because it’s part of my journey and I KNOW my body is in wayyyyy better shape than it’s ever been. Definitely consult your specialist just to make sure all is going well with your progress.😉 Sending huggies🤗 and positivity your way!💙

I’ve had a pouch in lower abdomen since having a hysterectomy 20 years ago. We’re the same height and have the same haircut 😉so I’m very interested in your progress.
