I came to know soundgarden in their older days, during king animal, and I was like "oh ben is that steriotype of bassist that seems to b in aother world" he was just standing still in the stage, oh boy, imagine my surprise when I started to watch older videos, lol

I always wondered how he’d never trip while running around like that with his straps that low.

I was lucky enough to see soundgarden quite a few times in Detroit. It’s sad what happened with Chris Cornell. Being from Detroit it’s weird to say I’m honored it happened here. Detroit always more than appreciates music and always shows up more than any other state.

disagree. just takes balls to go for it. its genius is its simplicity, even if it changes time signatures 5 times
@MarceloLaraM Жыл бұрын
On top of that, he wrote it. CC top genius
@greg61627 ай бұрын
@@kristopherkrueger4617I agree that simplicity doesn’t correlate how good a song is. Our ears and brains don’t care how simple or hard it is to play… music is about the melody. Some music you get the melody from the syncopation of the music being played or the music is more of a backing track and the syncopation of the melody is in the vocals. Sometimes you get both and everybody wins. But the complexity of the music I think is irrelevant and Nirvana proved that when the world got face slapped with “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. But don’t get me wrong Chris Cornell can do it all… literally. I heard he wrote all the parts to Black Hole Sun?! I know he used to be a drummer… as a guitar player myself I know that when I jam with my work band we switch instruments at the end and I can play bass without a pick easily. The drums are a different story though lol
@humanbeing5300 Жыл бұрын
Matt Cameron is the perfect drummer for Soundgarden. Sounds so heavy yet groovin. Then can switch to more nimble on a dime
