I spend a week with the 2023 Lexus RX 350h to see what it's like to live with and what kind of fuel economy it gets in the real world. Overall, it doesn't disappoint with impressive efficiency, lots of comfort and more power than you might expect. And while it isn't perfect, if you're looking for fuel efficient luxury SUV, the 2023 RX350h is really a sweet spot of competitive pricing for those not interested in the more expensive plug-in hybrid options from Europe. What do you think about the Lexus RX350h? Thanks to Lexus for providing this vehicle to review.

My cousin bought one of these and it’s awesome. He’s averaging 36-38 mpg combined which is wild for an suv. Great review!

I purchased a 2024 350h Luxury the first part of November. Yes, the gas mileage is indeed impressive. However, I would strongly recommend 91 Octane per Lexus recommendation. My in-town driving is close to the mid-40 mpgs. This is one of the best investments. I have owned both the RX500h and the gasoline RX350. Awesome vehicles for their short haul with me but I am more focused on fuel economy as opposed to power. The 2.5 liter engine is a proven, durable engine which will last a long time as long as it is maintained properly. Lexus fans strongly consider this vehicle.

Toyota really knows how to do hybrids. I personally like the bigger oomph in power vs. the fuel economy. The silver looks absolutely stunning.

As one who has had 1 - 2 leased Lexus vehicles in the family from 1990's ES250 through todays 2022 RX450h, here's my take on this..... Firstly, I do not believe that Lexus built its reputation on great gas mileage, and needs not do so in the future. It is a solid luxury brand with a 30+ year track record of safe, comfortable, reliable vehicles that can go over 100K miles with few issues. No one is going to go Lexus or not based a small difference in advertised or reported mpg. This is my fourth Lexus hybrid, where the HS got 30 mpg, both ES hybrids got over 35mpg, and the 2022 RX "hog" struggles to get 27 in conservatives everyday driving. If the 2024 RXh truly gets 36-38 mpg, that's great, and I may bite at the end of my lease next year, but that will not be the primary deciding factor. Of greater interest to me is the upcoming RX PHEW, but the 75K price is ridiculous over the current gas or hybrid for 10-15k less. The fully BEV RZ is of great interest to a techie like me, but the 200 mile range is a deal killer. Perhaps many others feel the same, as Lexus currently has a lease offer reducing the cap cost for the RZ by 15K, which is unprecedented in the industry. I rented a 2023 NX with the heads up display a while ago, and hated the way it drove with the 4 cyl. engine on "E", and I just could not get comfortable with having to rely on the heads up display for the info I currently get in my RX450h's dash display. Additionally, I do not like Lexus' insistence on moving everything to touch screen controls rather than actual button and dials that can be pushed and turned, but that's a personal preference. I have a year to go on my current lease, so I've beginning to look for the next vehicle. Hmm..... Venza, Tesla Y, Hyundai Sante Fe PHEW ??????

@imnotusingmyrealname4566
@imnotusingmyrealname4566 9 ай бұрын
When engine braking there is no fuel entering the combustion chambers and because this is a full hybrid the regenerative braking is not strong enough to stop the car. It might be a bit better on the RX 500h but it's still not as strong as a plug-in hybrid like the RX 450h+ which should be able to stop itself with regenerative braking.
@MattMaranMotoring
@MattMaranMotoring 9 ай бұрын
I wasn’t interested in stopping when coasting, and I know engine braking doesn’t use fuel, it just seems like a waste of energy to have it engine brake instead of feeding the battery.

I have an 06 RX330 and it has been an amazing vehicle that was in great shape until two weeks ago with a driver who was texting rear ended me. Yes, she has insurance and it will be repaired but we're thinking about selling it once fixed and purchasing a new RX350h since we drive about 400-500 miles a week.

@27Zangle
@27Zangle 6 ай бұрын
@@mervinprone So, turns out it was not totalled. It was only $1500 in damage as her car took the brunt of the damage. She was in a 2020 Cherokee and the entire front of her vehicle is a crumple zone. I took the cash to dump into new brakes, timing belt, etc. I popped the bumper back out and looked it over, the rear crash bar has a small dent, nothing major and it looks decent enough. Most people wouldn't know that we were rear ended unless we told them now. Before the side of the bumper were bowed out a half inch each side. We're going to try and get a few more years out of it or we'll get a new(er) one and keep this one as a back up and the one used to teach our kids how to drive as they are just a few short years away from learning
