One phobia that I have that I consider a mild inconvenience is my fear of elevators. The idea of a box with no windows that could potentially malfunction at any moment, trapping me inside is terrifying. Therefore whenever I visit a public building, I always take the stairs regardless of how many flights it'll take to get to my designated floor. Funny thing is I used to not have it.

I once found I spider without a web (I was younger back then) and I was like: oh that's so sad, let's give him a new web!. So I picked him up to give that lil' spider a new web and found a huge web for him. I placed the spider in there and I was so happy and felt like I was a sort of hero. And the a HUGE spider jumped in front of my face and swallowed him slowly while I watched. RIP lil' spider.

Once there was a dead yellow jacket under a basket in my room, it was dead (we think one of my cats killed it) but it terrified me, cause it was a a “bee”. Bugs creep me out, and if they are dead they still creep me out so maybe I have this phobia no clue

I have a phobia of cars. Mostly driving, but being in them in general is still not pleasant. The issue is that no one I know is willing to accept that it’s actually a thing and just kept telling me that it will get better and everyone goes through that fear of driving at first. Well, it hasn’t stopped yet and it isn’t about to so… yeah. In the US of A it’s pretty much mandatory for everyone to drive so I can’t avoid it completely, and I’ve considered moving to a different country just to avoid having to drive all the time.

I know this is delayed, but you’re not alone. People that aren’t afraid of driving are crazy imo. The most likely way you will die, if not of old age or illness, is in or from car. I’m constantly on edge when I’m anywhere near a vehicle and I wish I could be somewhere free of them.

I have submechanophobia, which is just the fear of man-made objects, but underwater. Recently i've been to Disneyland, and saw the Finding Nemo: Submarine Voyage ride in a corner and decided it would be pretty thrilling because of the phobia mentioned before. Once i got into the ride, i kind of liked it.. But then, while searching about more info on the ride, I came across the original Submarine Voyage, and if i got onto it it would've been HELL. Especially the giant squid scene.

a while back i was pondering about exactly this! i don't know why either. it might be that dead bugs are more common, and they don't move, and they gather up in masses around dangerous things, and then my fear of spindly things kicks in. they just feel... hollow... also, with dead bugs, you have to touch it to move it, but live bugs just go, you don't have to touch their strange parts to move them.

I basically have a phobia of any insects at all, like no matter where they are, what kind of bug they are, what they're doing, if they can hurt me, if they're dead, etc. If I see a bug nearby, I will get away as fast as I can.

Chipflake, actually the dead insect phobia is a real thing, it's called entomophobia. Edit: Thanks to Saige Ely for correcting me, entomophobia isn't actually the fear of dead animals, but to the alive ones

I have a fear of dead and living bugs. Not just bugs though, anything with an exoskeleton freaks me out. Small bugs are bad enough, but crustaceans… crustaceans are absolute nightmare fuel to me. Especially the really large ones. And of course spiders scare me as well.

What’s cool is with horses can actually sense peoples emotions so if your near one and your scared that horse will get scared too but it won’t go crazy or anything but it’s kinda funny bc your fear makes the horse scared of itself also they are probably the most gentle creatures when it comes to their teeth bc they do there best not to bite you when feeding them as long as your hand is flat. Sorry about rambling I wanted to share this thought

All of you guys are like Misty from Pokemon, you see insects, you can practically dug your own grave. I mean, it isn't any better between me and heights. Except that i have no problem ( or sometimes a little or a little bit bigger problem ) facing it, so I DON'T NEED TO DUG MY GRAVE. I MEAN, IF A INSECT COMES NEAR YOU, WHAT IS SO SCARY? ONLY AUSTRALIAN SPIDERS CAN HURT YOU, BUT YOU DON'T LIVE IN AUSTRALIA ( probably ), YOU CAN JUST *le clapping sound* AND KILL A MOSQUITO. BUGS CAN'T HURT YOU ( except that they can land and lay eggs on your food ) AND WORMS, CATERPILLARS, BUTTERFLIES AND OTHERS HAVE NO CHANCE OF HURTING YOU ( EXCEPT that a worm might mysteriously launch at your face, but that can't hurt so much...right? )
