I started as a helper in 1978 when I graduated from hs, broke out as a rig welder in 1985 and worked all over the country out of local 250 in los angeles. I ended my pipeliner career in 1995 due to a pretty bad on the job accident, I look back now with very very fond memories, but let me tell you my life didn’t really begin until after I got out of pipelining, my father started pipelining with a 1970 Ford pickup and a sa200 worked 35 years pipelining and passed away a multi-millionaire, my advice to all you guys is invest every penny you make don’t spend your money trying to out do every other yayhoo. Make the money and do your time it will end at some point.

I know this video is fairly old, but I have recently been having trouble with my Lincoln 300 breaking arc. At first I thought it was just me doing something wrong, but I’ve had several older more experienced welders use it and they have the same problem with it. One older gentleman referred me to a local Lincoln repair shop. Once I got in touch with them they told me they was going to steam wash my welder, generator and all. I was assured it wouldn’t mess it up. They should be finished with my welder this week so fingers crossed 🤞 I’m ready to get back on the line

bart bley I def would have if I wouldn’t have figured it out. I always try to fix it myself for the simple fact of not being down any longer than I have to. Sometimes them shops have several people in front of you, so it might be a week or 4 before they even look at at.

Dont know if u got it fixed but take your fuel filter off n c if your getting fuel there if not, and idk if yours has it or not, but SOME have a little external fuel pump that feeds the injectors its below the fuel filter an it bolts to the side of the frame got a wire running to it, that pump may POSSIBLY be bad IF yours has it

Sounds to me like your floot bowl is just running empty. it will slowly fill up with gas when but cant keep up with the usage and it dies. Pretty common problem with any carburetor on a small engine. I know this was months ago but figured id throw some information about what it could be in case someone else is having the issue.

Like he said it’s diesel...sounds fuel related change fuel filter...idk if protection circuit as far as welder portion goes..some guys said that..w.o welder knowledge hard to say but I really doubt its gauges either way..

When ever I go to the tractor supply near my house, they never have the things I need. Couldn't find any D rings, No mud flaps, no 1/4 npt air fittings, and they dont even have job box locks. I looked at every hardware store and big box store for master lock #5 one inch lock. Which is the lock needed for pretty much all job boxes. Bought my job box at home depot, they didnt have the right locks, went to another home depot no locks. Went to tractor supply, no locks. Went to lowes, no #5 master lock one inch. Holy shit people. If you sell job boxes, sell the fucking locks for them too. FUCK.

I invested in a fitted cover for my big Lincoln. The old machines were all solid state and could live outside, but all of the electronics, and especially the gauges, seem to die on the new ones if they live outside. And buying the high dollar stainless model doesn't actually get a more weather resistant machine. It might not rust, but all of the electronics corrode and cause issues. The cover might be a pain in the ass, but downtime is expensive.

@user-mt9tn1ni4g5 жыл бұрын
At 40 minutes and 30 seconds you make a very good point and I've been there myself.. you have to plan ahead and do your research.. you buy a used machine whether it be gas or diesel.. you've got to know your machine.. with a used machine you're never going to get an owners manual.. or a specification manual.. with schematics specific replacement part numbers.. there are no guarantees with used equipment and you could be running around for a long time and out of work.. buy a new Miller welding machine. Make sure you have the full extended warranty.. and get it insured .. if your machine breaks down.. you get a temporary replacement while it's being fixed.. keep in touch with the manufacture and local authorized dealers and. Find out who your local authorized dealer uses for they're authorized repair shop...

A welding machine thats not his thats either hooked up to a trailer, on a small trackhoe or something of the sorts. I dont know exactly what the sled he will be using is but it's an extra welding machine on something movable so you can have it out in the field/on the ROW
