Carrier: Doesn’t have the disease but can pass it on to his children. If both parents pass on the allele (gene) for the disease to their child, the child will have the disease. Carrier is when the person has 1 normal allele and 1 for the disease, therefore is not affected by it. Thanks General Biology class!

@@tabassumsaraah some countries colonised other countries. this means that they invaded them and took over the government. when that happens there are a lot of people who end up marrying from the people they were colonised by. also the sad part is that when colonisation happens, many soldiers end up forcefully sleeping with women from the country they're colonising. we've seen this with the recent invasion of Ukraine as well as when japan colonised korea. so if u are mixed there's a possibility it might have been from that (your ancestors history of colonization).

Hi! Biologist studying medicine hereee! Carrier means that you have a recessive gene for PKU! Recessive means that you need to have two copies of genes (from ur mom and dad) for the symptoms/disease to show. It’s kind of a serious disease, I suggest Dandan to get genetic counseling to be sure!

I think musically gifted doesn't necessarily mean you're good or bad at singing, it's that you have a good ear and can pick up instruments or singing very quickly if you already have the basics down. Like you might not be great at it, but compared to someone that's normal, you may pick things up faster and advance with a lot less work
