Fun fact 1. The reason for Yoda sounding much more like Yoda in the OT, is beacuse it's the same actor from the OT/PT that is playing him(Frank Oz). The Clone Wars had a different voice actor(Tom Kane). But of course the writing of his dialogue is as you say, much more in line with OT Yoda. Fun fact 2. This is the same Grand Inquisitor that we saw in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series Also good observations about Kanan, in fact, Kanan technically isn't even a Jedi Knight, let alone a Jedi Master. He's technically still a Padawan.

Fun facts: Episode 10: I only realized this a few months ago with another reaction to this episode, but the reason why the Jedi Masters withered and died was due to the fact that they came here at separate times, so they died alone waiting for their padawans. Also, this is very similar to Luke's trial in the dark side cave on Dagobah. And speaking of Dagobah, final fun fact of this episode: Yoda's original voice actor, Frank Oz, reprises his role in this episode. Episode 11: Yes, that is Billy Dee Williams reprising his role as Lando Calrissian (And this is my favorite episode of the entire first season), and yes that is James Hong voicing Azmorigan! Also, Azmorigan's design is based on Jabba the Hutt Concept art. Episode 12: Not a fun fact, but I think Chopper is a closeted sociopath.

The reason the jedi did not use blasters or lightsaber/blaster hybrids is because of what Obi Wan said after killing general grievous "so uncivilized". The jedi order frowned upon blasters because their sole purpose was to take life plus lightsaber crystals in lightsabers are connected to its user through the force making the wielder more in tune with the force during battle, and lastly, using a lightsaber was a much simpler way of being able to beat an opponent without necessarily killing them outright unless the jedi is Anakin then "DO IT!"

It's good to see how they kept portraying Lando as being polite and friendly towards droids, which makes a lot of sense after watching young Lando in the "Solo" movie. As for this being a more "traditional " series, most series before Rebels had been episodic with a few 2 or 3 part arcs (think of old Star Trek or shows like Bonanza), mostly because "serialized" shows with an overarching story would mean that someone watching a single episode in reruns might be completely lost as to what was going on in the story (such as later episodes of Deep Space 9 or Babylon 5).

19:57 The reason is basically the Jedi find blasters, vibroblades, and really any weapon other than a lightsaber uncivilized and too war-like for peacekeepers to carry. Having two lightsabers was looked down upon, having double-blades lightsabers even more so, but having a weapon/firearm was straight up prohibited. But times change when you’re a Jedi survivor following the purge. In Legends-which aren’t canon anymore-after Luke created his own Jedi Order he got rid of that rule, so you’d see a lot of Jedi running around with various tools, gadgets, and equipment. Like personal shields, grenades, blasters of all kinds, and knives/blades.

The show takes a lot of visual cues and inspiration from the original concept art that Ralph McQuarrie did for "A New Hope" back in the day, and that includes the lightsabers being noticeably thinner than in the rest of Wars movies/shows. Same thing for main and side characters, like Zeb being based on Chewbacca's original design and Chopper being based on R2D2's original design, and some of the protocol droids like the ones in the episode about Ezra's visions being based on C3P0's original design. As for Kanan, I always liked that he's kind of like Luke in the sense that he never had the chance to finish his formal training and he has to figure a lot of things out on his own trusting his connection to the Force, only he's worse off than Luke because Luke's own ignorance meant that he didn't know just how much he didn't know, if that makes sense, because the only Jedi Masters he knew were Obi-Wan and Yoda and he never really saw them display their full mastery of the Force, while Kanan has several years worth of formal training as a Padawan during the Republic era and he is keenly aware of just how skilled and powerful a Jedi Master truly is, having known many during his childhood and during the Clone Wars, and he knows for a fact he's nowhere near on that level, and you can see that by the comparatively simplistic way he wields his Force powers, which is more similar to the way the Force was used in the OT as opposed to later Star Wars media with OP Jedi, and by how much he struggles with instructing Ezra because, like he said here and in the episode where he brought up Yoda's "Do Or Do Not, There Is No Try" line, he feels he doesn't know enough himself.

Reason Jedi don't typically use blasters was because they are taught to use the force for defensive mainly but offensive if necessary. A blaster is mainly for offensive only. Thus why they are so uncivilized. It is also why you don't usually see jedi turning other lightsabers off, it was dishonorable and agreed by Jedi and Sith

You’re right the lightsabers are skinnier here (more like a fencing saber) the reason for that choice in style was the same as a lot of the artistic choices in the story, the style takes a lot of inspiration from the early concept art of Ralph McQuarie (I’m sure you’ve heard from other posters that Zeb was the original concept are of Chewbacca, the city in Lothal was taken based on work for the capital city of Alderaan that was never seen etc) and in several of the more famous concept are pieces skinny lightsabers were depicted

i forgot about those last 2 episodes. IIrc, Filoni said something about playing with the idea of filler episodes and planted easter eggs to show up later. There's also a major storyline that goes throughout the entirety of the show but it's hidden in plain sight atm and doesn't really kick in until the last season. Also, I was wondering why you guys were holding back on the TotJedi episodes and I think I get it. You really could've seen the middle 2 before next week's arc with no spoilers but I guess it's better after next week for the last episode. They did it to resemble the posters for the original Star Wars movie. It’s similar to a lot of stuff in this show where it is basically like a love letter to Ralph mquarrie who did the concept art for the original trilogy. He drew the lightsabers like that. His original drawing of r2 was used for chopper, his original drawing of the falcon was used for the ghost, his og design of Chewbacca became zeb. I believe the inquisitor was an unused design for grevious. But yeah most of the interesting design choices in the show are references to him because other than George Lucas he’s probably the most responsible for what Star Wars is

The biggest reason why Jedi don't use blasters is because they are to easy to use. Stand from a distance, pull the trigger and it's done. A blade is much more personal, it takes more action and thought to use a blade. It restrains a Jedi from ending everyone anytime it suits them. Jedi are already very powerfull on their own, way more powerfull then the average person. A lightsaber is a reminder to restrain themself and always be aware of their actions
