Absolutely NTA. Your job is to protect your daughter. The predator may have ‘paid his debt’ but it would be profoundly foolish to let him around your daughter. If your wife wants to hang out with her family and him, fine. Let her. But if you and your daughter not going is a dealbreaker for her, then you’ll have to separate. And under NO circumstances should he be allowed anywhere near your home.

Both are NTA His wife feels trapped in the middle, feeling stressed and conflicted. Her family absolutely sucks and she should cut contact, but the thing about abusers and manipulators is that they make everything seem so good. Unfortunately, OP's wife does beed to choose: her daughter and husband or her manipulative abusive family. She did apologize, and OP is kind of an asshole fir not listening to ir trying to understand his wife and talk to her and help her through this. She never said she wanted her daughter around him, only that sge felt like she was stuck in the middle with no support from anyone on either side.
