It is so nice to see a video where someone's still learning their way around cooking because it makes me feel a little less stupid/alone for not knowing the ins and outs of how to cook. Rachel's genuine excitement at cracking an egg so well one handedly filled me with joy and I loved seeing how supportive Jun is! Keep up the good work Rachel!!

It's nice because I feel inadequate at times when I know there are a lot of practical skills I don't know how to do (schools are too fixated on exams and league tables rather than teaching practical life skills). Cooking feels more achievable though and when I save up enough cash to finally get a house of my own, I want to cook a variety of nice, healthy dishes. 🙂

@1Thunderfire4 жыл бұрын
@@recoil53 I'm not if car repair was ever done in UK schools and nowadays, most cars are fitted in such a way that you can't even fix them yourself. At this point, I wish my Grandma had taught me to sew. I hated the class at school for various reasons and I think I would have benefitted from a much smaller class. Still, there is an actual sewing shop near me that normally holds classes. Having independence when I move out will give me the chance to do this kind of thing. I've already been trying my hand at making my own cleaning products. (The bath one was very successful.)

@Random KZbin Watcher You are right about that. I read that the US passed the Chinese Exclusion Act because Asian men made white men feel so anxious. They were either "stealing" their jobs or women, which was such an overexaggeration as you can imagine. Irish and other working class white women at the time were known to seek refuge in Chinatowns because their white husbands were so abusive towards them. A trend we see to this day.

*watching Rachel cut potatoes Me: *judge judge judge judge j/k Rachel: How's my slicing technique? Jun: .....You're doing good! In all seriousness, you did great Rachel :) Especially that egg crackin' technique. Gotta admit, I'm kinda jelly
Poki is a tuxedo cat. I’ve had 2. They open doors and windows and figure things out. They also live a very long time. My last one was 19 years old. He would swat food off your fork and made up his own games and show you how he wants you to play. Enjoy him.

I love Jun he is soft spoken,gentle when he moves and super positive in all situation. Very supportive to his wife.
Look at that beautiful, masterful, single handed egg crack! I am impressed! I would end up with a bowl full of shell 😂

Thats actually really easy to learn. I suggest just taking a few eggs and learning how to do it. Its a small skill but it gives you as the cook so much confidence in the kitchen.

Rachel, we LOVE your family and your videos! We just enjoy the privilege of seeing you two spend time together. NO JUDGEMENT here. We want to see you cook your way. No one expects you to cook like Jun bc you are RACHEL 🌱🌿🌸🌸🌸

This video it's so beautiful and it teaches you a lot of points!!! 1.- It shows how can someone can learn/still learning how to cook by watching someone else cooking (in this case, Rachel have been watching Jun cook all the times so she knows somethings)! 2.- Safety it's first so it's okay to be slow in cooking and don't panic! (The only thing that I want to say to Rachel is to use the claw method to hold the food so it's way safe to cut the ingredients!) 3.- Be supportive! I really loved watching Jun support Rachel all the time! He didn't even say things like "you should do this" or " you have to do that", he just let her be and just encourage her! 4.- Everything it's a success. The joy of Rachel by cracking and egg with one hand it's so cute and, even tho for some people it's nothing, for others it's a success. And that really helps especially if you want to start cooking. (Also, this just prove us that Jun have powers and knows which eggs have two yolks)

I was scooping out the little white goopy part! If someone else is cooking I’ll eat it but if I’m making eggs myself I usually take it out. -Rachel

I don't crack an egg unless I am adding an egg into my instant noodles, but I'm impressed by that single hand cracking. And I think from this video I will now be able to single hand crack eggs. Will find out tmr when I make myself some noodles.

As a lifelong passionate home cook, I love seeing people get excited about cooking, especially when they aren't that confident about it at first. Rachel is so genuinely happy with herself, and she should be. That meal looked lovely ☺️👍.

I love it! The positive words throughout the video was so uplifting. Many times others get frustrated with those that are not proficient at a task, but that can backfire and make that person not want to do that task again. Great job on the encouragement Jun, and Rachel, keep it up! Thank you for a positive video!

You know what I am impressed. From my perspective you made the egg cracking look super easy. I've never been able to and I'm taking the short lesson to heart for the next time I try it.
