Exactly! The whole point is to make you look bad. It doesn't matter what the real answer is, you need to say the worse option. No one's going to believe you if you say it's wrong. And why would these people go so far in making themselves look bad, then at the final moment blow it and get nothing? Someone needs to go on there and just choose all the worse answers, that's what they're looking for. Everyone knows lie detectors are often wrong, hence why they don't hold weight in a court setting typically. The whole premise of the show is fucked up.

I think it depends on how long they've been together and what has been going on in their relationship during that time. It is important to be patient until you're sure of yourself and your partner, but there are times when you take too long and are just wasting time.
