@@ElleD308 I know I really feel terrible for this guy. I think he really believes he can't find someone else. And that's not true at all. She is the one who isn't going to be able to find anyone willing to put up with her and pay for her. She's a bad person. You have to be in order to say something so cruel to someone you claim to love the most. Even the smallest lifestyle changes are so difficult to make that way over 85% of people fail. Such as exercising more or eating healthier. It takes such a huge amount of time energy effort and dedication to do something so small, that the failure rate is extremely high. So to make a huge sweeping personality change on top of all of the lifestyle changes such as her cleaning the house more. That's so difficult it's basically impossible. Unless her brain chemistry is literally being changed by medication, which it might be, I don't believe this change is permanent

I don't own a car, do not drive, my kids have never been in a car yet. Despite this I own and very carefully store car seats for each of them so that if they ever do have to go in one, I know they have safe seats to use vs absolute uncertainty. They were expensive seats, too, because I wanted them up to specific specs, they have steel frames and still weigh more than my daughter does. When they outgrow them, because the car seats are usually still in their original boxes and I know how safely I have stored them I contact local baby charities and ask them if they need them (They always do! And usually the proof that it is safe is a must!). There are seats out there with an indicator on to show if it is still safe, but I struggle to find those in my country. If the car seat takes an impact enough to compromise it, the indicator changes to red. Child safety is no joke. It freaks me out that public transport doesn't have any safety stuff for the passengers either. How people feel they can skip out on car safety is insane to me.

Some people do it as a hobby, finding what they feel are interesting things and sometimes refurbishing and/or repurposing the found items. Others do it as a way to save money, though depending on what they're "diving" for, it could cause more harm than good, such as with the car seat. They are indeed only safe through one accident. About the car seat story- OP is 100% correct about the 1 wreck durability of a car seat, but the ignorance a lot of people have about car seats is unbelievable. I worked at walmart and we had to zip tie the fuck out of our displays because of theves but the part that bothered me is that those aren't car seats, theyre fucking displays in the truest since of the word. This isn't like the floor model of a tv or bicycle in that they took them out of a box so you can see what they look like but could potentially use. The displays are just models of the actual car seat and do not offer any protection whatsoever for a child. We had signs up but it's also stamped onto the plastic all over the fucking thing at the factory that its a display item only and cannot fucntion as an actual car seat and will not protect a child. But people would still take them if they could. When we threw them out we had to literally destroy them beyond repair because apparently people who come and steal them and sell them on Craigslist. Breaks my heart to think how many children have been hurt or killed because their parents are thieving morons. Thanks @wmdkitty

Wow... I was completely unaware that ppl really tried to cheap out on such a high risk item and put in danger their own kids... Idk what to say... It's so sad that we need to do that to avoid this sort of monsters to endanger kids 😢
@NoOne-fo1di
@NoOne-fo1di 6 ай бұрын
@AntarticSiren that is true about the car seats, but since the display isn't actually a car seat, that doesn't apply. I was baffled when I heard that. I started on the remodel crew and we worked the 7p to 7a shift and when we were installing the displays my boss told me why we had to go through putting so many zipties down and I thought he was joking. He said 1 person that was caught trying to steal one was told they did work and he said "I mean if a cop sees it they'll still think it's an actual car seat" like wtf? THAT is your excuse? Who cares if my kid dies in a wreck? Just as long as I don't get a ticket if I get pulled over smh. He also said that it's not a rare occurrence for people who do steal them to try and sue walmart or the company if the child is hurt or killed, that's why we had to go through all that shit and why they're stamped all over saying that they're not an actual carseat.

Why do the cheaters offer getting counseling after they get caught? When my wife and I had marriage issues we got counseling. If one of us didn’t like that counselor we tried a different one until we found one that we both agreed too. As for the monitoring the cheater, never accept that. You need a partner in life, not a convict. Also, it is a strong possibility that they have been cheating for a long time or had other affairs that you never found out about. The cheater feels they can put smart you. Trust has to be rebuilt in the relationship. Being a jailer is not how you do that.

Story 1: As the old saying goes, "You don't know what you've got until it's gone." As OP said, they took each other for granted, but it took his heart attack and the two of them being separated for a month to make them realize just how much they needed each other. One can only hope that they mend this relationship further, and spend many more years together.

Bicycle/Moterbike/Scateboard/Racing Car helmets, Safety Goggles, Work Hard hats, and all Personal Protective Equipment in general are a one and done deal. Now as a new mother many many years ago I did not know about Car seats being a one and done deal, but thankfully my mother explained how the child Car seats worked and showed me safety leaflets from the Baby shops and GP surgeries (well before Internet days) and then I understood. I would never knowingly put my offspring in danger, not even now they are grown. Of course now having worked a few different jobs with very good safety training courses, I'm maybe have become a tad too zealous over home safety but at least I have never (touch wood) had an easily avoided accident at home.

Story 1: “Replaceable”… ? That’s not a common insult in the midst of an argument - she slipped up and accidentally revealed she had someone *already in mind*, if only in potential. But to follow that with not answering calls from the HOSPITAL ? - nah, she was ignoring the phone in favor of the Replacement Guy. OP is in for a world of hurt. He should have stuck out the separation - he seemed way happier and more at peace without her.

Story 1: I heard a youtube short where the speaker explained that his wife said: "I know we will have arguments but angry or not remember to always speak to me like somebody you love." You are replaceable? That's cold. No love in that statement. My wife said something similar once, years ago. I told her I will never forget and never forgive. She is sorry but I am true to my word. Now I am thinking that this woman is going over this scenario in her head. She tells him he's replaceable. He has a heart attack. Instead of recovering he dies and her last words to him were cruel and unloving. She gets to live with never getting a chance to make it right. Fact is that be it heart attack, car accident, rando disaster you never know if the last time you spoke will indeed be the last time. Do you want things to end there? Like that? Story 2: She's still protecting "the affair". Only grudgingly giving up details, refusing to reveal info about the AP. Shows who and what her priority is. Shows she is NOT willing to "do anything". Just say anything. No second chance because in truth she does not even want one. If she did her actions would be otherwise.

Story 1: A very interesting and good outcome of a bad situation. Kudos to OP and his wife for how they resolved the issue and also handled the deeper issues. What the wife told OP, you're replaceable, during their fight was really hurtful and indicated their relationship was seemingly doomed. She probably lashed out of frustration because of underlying issues and knew how to hit him where it hurt the most. She got a serious wake-up call when he ended up in hospital with a heart attack. Fortunately she realized her huge mistakes and didn't try to blame him for saying what she did. She accepted the need for him to live alone for awhile to sort out his feelings. That was smart even though the instinctive action would be to resolve the issues immediately. When they finally spoke about their relationship situation and her actual hurtful words she understood how she had hurt him and apologized unconditionally. She didn't even object when he believed she might have found another man. She just said she hadn't, but could see why he thought so. She swallowed her pride and completely owned up to her mistake. She volunteered for counseling to figure out their underlying relationship issues. I think she saved their relationship by showing him she knew how she hurt him without blaming him at all. He also saved the relationship by abstaining from humiliating her by getting revenge. The only time he went a little too far he immediately apologized. They both understood you don't get a good end result if you insist on being right. OP did well when he told his wife he forgave her, but won't forget what she said. She knows she got a second chance, but needs to work on herself to prevent it from happening again. She does that by going to therapy. Good luck to both of them. I never saw that positive end result coming. It's really refreshing to hear stories that don't end in divorce or break-up. That shows you can recover from messing up if you act like and adult and own up to your part.

Story 1: I’m actually really happy to see OP came back with that update. It’s rare we get to see a (what seems at this point to be) functional reconciliation through some complex relationship issues and deep hurt on Reddit. I will guess that a lot of the drama llamas in the update comments were upset he didn’t divorce immediately and burn her world down, but to them this is just a story and then they go about the rest of their day. They aren’t the ones that actually have to live his life. It sounds like they are still learning to how to communicate and support each other in a healthy way but they have a good therapist, clearer perspective after the separation, and the most important thing- they are both still in it and still trying together. Maybe they will make it, maybe not, but it sounds like OP is in an emotionally and physically healthier place which is awesome no matter how the marriage goes.

She wouldn't have to turn over all of the power over to op in order to prove to her loyalty to him. Op would be questioning every thing she does while checking to see if she is worthy of his trust. A clean break is the only option to keep both of you from feeling like crap. What they should do is find out what broke down in their marriage that created the crack that op couldn't see but his wife noticed. Especially since op assumed that their marriage was solid. Marriages have to be worked on like everything else and people seem to forget that during the course of being married.

Story 1: “you are replaceable” is also a response to financial abuse, but also something a narcissist could say. There is a lot of info left out of this story that makes me question the author. He even brings up he makes more than her, and talks about how much physical stuff he brings to the relationship. If my partner ever said that to me my first thought would be “is my love that replaceable?” Even though I am financially more stable, I probably wouldn’t even think of that unless that was what the argument was about. The fact he is also holding on to the one time she said something, rather her actions makes me think he’s playing the victim. Like even the story with that story, the bad thing the husband did was gang up against his wife, what he said just made her realise it.

That’s a pretty weird take, considering that you’re assuming that based off a single comment she made in an argument, only to rush to the hospital, crying and holding his hand, and doing everything in her power to help him heal What she said was cruel. I’m not dismissing that. But to assume based off a single comment in their long relationship that she doesn’t actually care about him and only cares about what he provides, especially when he’s stated that it’s not as if she doesn’t also work and do chores, seems kind of odd. Not to mention the way she acted after the fact. Taking the separation hard, not getting angry when he accused her of cheating, and offering to let him check, taking the initiative to see a therapist to work out her own issues, having no issues going to couples therapy. Plus taking up more of the housework once they moved back in together, continuing her own therapy and still going to counseling. Seems pretty intense if she’s just worried about a meal ticket, and odd that she’d take up more work than him if she just wanted a maid.

The wife was 100% out getting sh!t-faced and f***ed by some random she picked up at the club (Or more likely, the guy she plans on replacing him with.) He is delusional if he believes otherwise. Why else would she ignore all those phone calls? “I was angry with you.” just doesn’t cut it. She not only ignored his phone calls but multiple calls from the hospital because she was busy getting her back blown out after telling him he’s replaceable. The excessive guilt afterwards is guilt from her cheating not from triggering his heart attack. OP is a fool.
