Yes, that particular Vampire is played by a pro-wrestler. That’s Triple H from WWE. And fun bit of trivia: Ryan Reynolds is a HUGE pro-wrestling fan, so when it came time for him to do his big 1v1 fight with Triple H, he wanted to do it all himself, no stuntman doing anything whatsoever except helping teach him the right moves.

The one of reasons for Snipes bad behavior is that he and his production company were supposed to be in on all changes to the script and story but MANY changes that he hated were made without consulting them at all so he protested in many ways that weren't... good at all. The best thing that came out of this movie was the fact that this is the movie where Ryan Reynolds was told about the character of Deadpool.

The reason we didn't get more Blade is because Wesley hated the script & direction of David Goyer so much, he physically attacked him to make him quit. He refused to come out of his trailer & would only do close-ups. Most of the medium & distance shot you see in the film are his stunt double. He wanted Guillermo del Toro back, but he was deep into his production of the first Hell-Boy film. This was supposed to be a pilot film for The Night -Stalkers. Patton Oswald has a great video on You-Tube about it. There is also a television series with a different actor playing Blade. My personal problems with the film are the inconsistencies with the previous films. The first film established that Blade could tell the differences between Humans & Vampires by sight, movement & smell but he shoots a Human in public. Why can humans now fight Vampires directly when they are faster & stronger. Plus, they kill Whistler again and those stupid Vampire dogs. And why are those hinged jaws so prevalent when they were an anomaly in the second film? Petty? Maybe but those things just annoyed me.
@3Rayfire
@3Rayfire 2 жыл бұрын
They could've easily resolved the vampire dog thing by having him say you made Reaper dogs. I'm more concerned with the fact that the original Vampire Dracula has reaper jaws. Now it makes sense if Damaskinos was just unlocking older vampire genetics that he didn't understand with his Reaper project, but that should've been spelled out.
@thebkg
@thebkg 2 жыл бұрын
They showed Drake having the Unhinged Jaw ability as well, revealing it to be an original trait that became dormant as Vampirism mutated over the centuries. Drake mentions early on that Vampires had become a weakened version of their original selves.
@thebkg

@@dreamshakejunya Blade was written as a much bigger part of the script. This wouldn't have featured the Nightstalkers as heavily if Snipes had come out of his trailer when called to set. I certainly agree that he had cause for a grievance regarding the contract breach. But that was NOT the right way to handle it. It was unprofessional to every other actor there. Everyone on the set of Blade 3 hated Snipes after the shoot, everyone. That kinda narrows down the He Said/She Said.
@toddjackson3136
@toddjackson3136 2 жыл бұрын
@Dream Shake Junya the hinged jaw had become a genetic anomaly by the time of Blade 2. Vampires had stopped inheriting that gene. That's why they didn't recognize the scar on the reapers for what it was until too late.
@thebkg
@thebkg 2 жыл бұрын
@Dream Shake Junya Quick reply only to your opening there... it was never His Franchise. He didn't own it. And that's likely the same attitude that he had, that he had ownership when it didn't. He was able to negotiate to get influential privileges of the script, but that's a far cry from total control, and even that only of the script. He had zero percent ownership of the production.

Fun fact since Holden didn't mention it and I'm not sure if he knows, this movie is the actual reason why we got Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. When they made the movie, someone said to Ryan Reynolds his character was a lot like Deadpool. He didn't know anything about Deadpool, did his research and he loved the character. For 12 years he tried to convince studios to make Deadpool movie with him. They even had test footage. That didn't convince studios either. Then years later the footage was leaked, people loved it and 24 hours after the leak the movie was greenlit.

Snipes had more and more issues as production went on. He was staying in character all the time, forcing people to call him Blade, he got in physical fights with the director AND with Reynolds, he tried to assume control of production (that's why he refused to open his eyes in that one scene - he WAS a producer, but he and the director clashed a lot), and generally became so problematic that he nearly ruined his acting career. Now for a fun fact: when Jessica Biel fires the arrow at Dracula, she was told to fire as close to the camera as she could....and she shot through the glass window and straight down the lense, and in the movie it cuts before it hits. The Blade trilogy paved the way for the MCU, showing to execs that comic book movies could be worth it (previous Marvel outings like Howard the Duck and the never released Fantastic Four and Nick Fury outings had left a sour taste in people's mouths)

I never understood why Dracula would side with Vampires against Blade. He despised them for wasting the abilities and time they had even more than humans he hunted for food. You would think he would watch like a cheerleader as Blade took them all out. TV show mentions that the bio-weapon took out all vampires that spawned from Dracula, one whole clan, but there are about 12 mentioned clans, Frost took leadership of one of them, Erebos in Blade I and in Blade II the leadership of another clan fell. But those two clans still had many members running around, just not organized.

That's a good point that Jenn made about the vampires should have simply recreated another Blade type day-walker to serve themselves. I never heard anyone else raise that question. I enjoy this movie more with every subsequent viewing. I agree that the focal point wasn't Blade, which did hurt the movie, but if you watch the deleted, final scene of the movie, this film was designed in part to set-up a spin-off with Reynolds and Biel as the Night-stalkers where they would hunt all sorts of monsters. I thought Biel was cool in this movie, and Reynolds' scenes, particularly with Parker Posey, were hysterical. They had good chemistry as foes.

I loved the first two Blade movies. Watched them both several times. The original was one of the first three movies I ever bought on DVD (along with The Matrix and Dark City). I watched this one ONCE and never had the desire to go back. Now that is has been almost 2 decades, I'm sure if I ever find the time I may give it a second watch. I DO remember enjoying this much more than Morbius, though. Originally, Guillermo del Toro was offered to return for this film and worked on some early development, but left when he was offered the role of writing and directing Hellboy. Thus, David Goyer took over directing as well for this installment. There were several stories that came out a few years after the movie's release with some saying Snipes was difficult on set and others criticizing Goyer's for his inexperience in directing (he had only previously made an independent film with Snipes two years prior) and handing production. A lot of people reflect back on all the hearsay and gossip as Snipes being the "villain" in the situation, though when you look at what became of the film with Blade playing second fiddle and increasingly upstaged by his co-stars in his own film. The movie was intended to spin off Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel for their own series of films and effectively end Snipes' involvement entirely in a hit franchise, so I can understand why he may not have been in the best mood while making the film after having literally kickstarted both Marvel's first real movie and the modern comic book film genre in general. Also, Dominic Purcell, who played Dracula, would later go on to play Heat Wave in several of DC Comic's CW series from the Arrowverse (The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, etc.) for the better part of a decade.

Seems there is an artelnate ending coz the one i seen is after Drak and blade fight before Drak dies he says (let me give you final gift) then scene changes to coronary lab we see blade on table and when they about to cut him open Blades body turns to Drak.

Blades my favorite superhero, so I still like this movie. But I think that had the studio not interfered, and let goyer go through with the original script, the blade trilogy would have probably gone down as one of the best superhero trilogy’s of all time. For those who don’t know, the original script was a post apocalyptic where the vampires had won, with a sort of old man Blade.

There were 2 endings. The one you saw was suppose to be Dracula (drake) disguised as Blade. The CGI eyes were suppose to be drake's eyes, not Blade's. I do believe that is what they were going for. The second was also Dracula disguised as Blade. But before the autopsy could start, the dead body reverted back to Dracula. This was Dracula's "final gift" to Blade (hence why I think the one you saw was suppose to he drake also, disguised as blade)

In that last scene, it wasn't Blade, it was Drake. He transformed into Blade when he was dying so the coroners would think he had died and stopped looking for him. He transformed back into his normal form when they were trying to open him up and confused the doctors. Blade waking up and fighting the doctors was added later.

Dominic Purcell is lately known for his role in the DC show "Legends of Tomorrow", but you may also remember his earlier show on Fox "John Doe" which was a pretty cool one season experience, sadly edit And that guy from Hell on Wheels also played a couple different roles in "Stargate Atlantis"

One of my favourite vampire movies out there - I've always loved the age-old conflict between Vampires and Werewolves :) and Selene is just epic. Great reaction as always, and thanks for sharing your awesome with us /Lizz

Ok so the truth behind the ending when Blade is lying on the table and CGI is used to open his eyes. Wesley was angry at David S Goyer (The Director) for some reason and didn't want to cooperate that day by opening his eyes as the director wanted. So CGI was then used to open his eyes I hope he makes a cameo as blade in the next two phases of the MCU, maybe secret wars 😁 We can live and hope 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Love you guys ❤️ keep up the good work 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Jessica Biels character was whistlers daughter from a different relationship. Remember when Blade said I thought whistlers family were all killed and she replied they were I was born a few years later out Whitlock. So whistlers family did killed by vampires and she was from a different relationship. The first time I watched it I made the same mistake. It took my friend rewinding it for me to realize he was right and yes I did say rewind cause I had it on VHS. Lol but love your work. Keep rocking it you two and I will be getting a membership soon from your Patreon

Interesting that they went with the alternate ending, in both the theatrical and extended versions, Drake transformed into Blade until on the autopsy table, with the end line of “As for Drake’s final gift, let’s just say that the FBI got their body… it just wasn’t the one they counted on.” Blade still rides into the night with a voiceover about an ongoing war but doesn’t kill the two humans that were trying to find the truth, as evidenced by the brief scene of the white agent coming across Danika’s fresh ashes on the stairs in the final scenes.

If I’m not mistaken, Trinity was meant to be the set up for a spin off with Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel. If I also remember correctly, Snipes had a big issue with and really didn’t like that his 3rd movie was not Blade focused but instead being used to set up something else without him which ended up never happening and also some personal issues bled through on set leading to the CGI eyes scene. The movie isn’t as terrible as people make it out to be but something there was missing. Overall the Blade trilogy is pretty solid in terms of CBM are concerned.

I remember hearing both II and Trinity had real production issues mostly between Snipes and Director/Production. I think part of it can be seen in the scene Holden noted the weird CGI eyes.

We can't forget the comment of the day! Whistler's daughter played by Jessica Biel was a nice touch. Nice to see a pre-Deadpool with Ryan playing that part. This was enjoyable seeing Triple H and him fight. Hope they do a Deadpool/Cable and Deadpool/Blade films in the future. Just noticed me and Jen are drinking a Cherry Bubly; what a coincidence.

Hannibal King is an old school marvel character. For a time super heroes were on the outs, so horror comics became the big thing. Hannibal King was a good vampire (not evil) and a detective. Cool character but he should have been played by a more serious actor. Great reaction as always.

Dr. Karen Jenson was never part of the Blade comics; the character was created specifically for the film. That may be one of the reasons why they found it unnecessary to bring her character back. N’Bushe Wright was very talented, and I would have loved to have seen more of her work, but after the tragic murder of her father, I can see why acting would've been a low priority for her.
