Some fun facts about this movie: Hugh Jackman's terrified reactions when he meets Ian McKellen are real; he was told Magneto was going to tear open the train car, and assumed that meant ripping off the door, not tearing the entire car in half. That was for real, by the way; they feature it on behind the scenes documentary. Hugh Jackman had to look back at the footage and study his movements and reactions for matching in subsequent shots, because he was basically panic-dancing from being scared out of his mind. The crew actually had to rush in with extinguishers after the shot because sparks were falling and catching on fire, with some of the actors narrowly avoiding getting burned. Keep in mind that filming productions didn't use to be nearly as safe as they are these days. When he stops falling at 24:36, he lets out a real yell of pain; this is because the harness he was wearing slipped and pinched him in the groin. Also, Rebecca Romijn-Stamos accidentally kicked the senator for real at 12:25. Also, Ian McKellen actually declined the role of Gandalf because he was busy filming this; director Bryan Singer changed the filming schedule so McKellen could finish his scenes first at the end of 1999, and then travel to New Zealand in January 2000.

What i also like is that Hugh didnt know he was playing wolverine untill like a week before filming and he had no clue who Wolverine was or what a wolverine is. At the time, this and Spider-Man 1 were peak comic book movies, and this was all we had in the day. Besides the comics, X-Men TAS, and X-Men Evolution, this doesn't really compare to it as whole, because if you ONLY watch the movies, you won't get the impact these characters have had, like Cyclops, Storm and Rogue... And many others down the road. As a film it's perfectly fine though, and was Kevin Feige's first big producing job, and had to make sure comic stuff actually got in the movie (literally sneaking comics to Hugh Jackman), like Logan's iconic hair, and his stance in the bar was given to him by the film's writer/actor (voice of Solid Snake) David Hayter... Because Bryan Singer refused to do so... Oh that's a whole can of worms I can get into later...

The way Jenn feels about Storm being poorly represented is also how a ton of the characters are - even ones done well like Wolverine are more Hugh Jackson than the Wolverine character What I hope to see improve most in an MCU X-Men would be Cyclops given some justice. He's extremely similar to Captain America or Superman where a ton of people have thought of them as some lame boy scout type, but they're strong leaders and have their edge. Cyclops has so many badass moments throughout the comics, but the Fox movies make Scott into Wolverine's punching bag and don't even get Cyclops' optic blast correct much of the time (they don't produce heat - they're like concussive energy 'punches')

Love X-Men even though i wish X1 and X2 had a more classic X-Men artistic for example the comic costume's both movies are still amazing, MCU and later comic book movies from D.C showed that comic outfits can work in live action. Days of Future Past is still my personal favourite along with First Class just really love the settings of these two films. With the Wolverine game i do hope we see a 2000s flashback where it's based on the more militant dark costumes from Ultimate X-Men which really had a great mix of classic and film pulled it off a little better than the film in my opinion. But would also love to see 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s Wolverine in the game from yellow and blue to my personal favourite Brown and Tan. X-Men: Apocalypse has my favourite costumes even if I'm not a big fan of the film the costumes are solid and pretty comic accurate with Dark Fate being a massive downgrade.

As someone who was reading the comics in the `60`s as a boy, I am grateful that I have lived to see Superheroes make the silver screen. Particularly, those whose comics I used to read. Although, back then the original team was Prof. X, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, Beast & Angel. My favourite story of theirs contained a character called (The Mimic), who joined the team.

Glad you two are starting your X-men journey. Hope to see them in the MCU soon. Mabey in MOM. My two favorite superheros have always been Wolverine and Spiderman. All I need is a film with both of them in it now.✌

This movie came out in 2000 and just 2 years later we had the Raimi Spiderman masterpiece, followed by their wonderful sequels, it was one of the Best times to be a Marvel Fan.

I swear one of the best parts of these videos as when you say something inappropriate and your wife turns and gives you that look makes me laugh so hard everytime

One thing never anyone really picks up in is that Magnito never really knows that Senator Kelly dies. So his plan is to just turn everyone into mutants. He doesn’t know that he’d be killing everyone.

Storm *should* have said: “Do you know what happens to a toad when it’s struck by lightning? It croaks.” 😉🐸

I think Jenn would love Agents of SHIELD. I really hope patreon people will vote on it one day. I mean she said she loved X-files and X-men and AoS always game me those kind of vibes. Not to mention that AoS was closer connected to the MCU than any other show.

Jen: "I would have liked Storm more if they properly displayed her power" Storm: "You're damn right, I'm an Omega Level Mutant!"😭

So nice to see the reaction to this series. This one was and still is one of my favorite superhero movies

all these powers are so much deeper then they explain. I mean, Cyclops for isntance doesnt shoot lasers, its pure concussive force ( so getting fire from his "laser" isnt supposed to happen) and the power doesnt come from inside of him, but his eyes are in fact portals to another dimension made out of the energy he " shoots"

Mark 4:34. Hi! I know that this is a belated post, but the "Alien" & "Predator" movies are a crossover shared universe, that should be viewed as one set, including the newest ones named after the spaceship. 😎
