Fun Fact: The ENTIRE cast at the time gathered around that open field to watch the Rick-Shane scene because they knew what would go down and wanted to see with their own eyes.

Lori reactivated the crazy in Shane with her mix message apology. Rick had calmed him down a bit but Shane was constantly lying. He told Rick he never looked at Lori before while he told Lori them being together was a long time coming.

The issue with being the leader is taking responsibility when things go wrong, even when it’s not your fault. Everybody wants Rick to do the hard tasks but also get upset at him when minor things happen and it’s frustrating throughout the series.

When Shane said “Lori and Carl will get over you, they’ve done it before.” Bruh I get chills cause that was such a cold blooded thing to say cause it was true!

That scene with Rick and Shane has got to be one of the best scenes in the entirety of the series.

I like to share an awesome fact about Shane actor, jon bernthal. jon bernthal and Andrew Lincoln (Rick grimes) pitch an idea that in Shane’s death scene, that after Rick killed Shane, Rick took Shane’s gun and then once Shane turned to become a walker, charging Rick at full speed. Rick then decided to aim with Shane’s gun and pulled the trigger (click,click, click) Rick checks the magazine, the gun was empty! This pitch was unfortunately turned down but jon bernthal and Andrew Lincoln was still acting like it was going to play out that way, so in some way, shape, or form the actors kept the flavor of their pitch through their acting. But Shane’s empty gun was to imply it was never loaded in the beginning that Shane was trying to push Rick into the man that Shane wanted Rick to become. My interpretation of that pitch was Shane never meant to kill Rick as I always believed, because in my opinions if Shane really wanted Rick to be dead then Shane had plenty of opportunity to do it. Deep down shane and Rick has high value of their best friendship.

Rick knew what Shane was doing from the start, thats why he split them up in that way, both Rick and Daryl knew that Shane was telling some bullshit story he cooked up. You could also see the way Rick looked and Shane the entire time and how he was basically interrogating him the whole time they were walking, also Shane knew Rick knew, because they both were cops and Shane also knew why Rick was doing. Thats why on the field Rick said so this is where you plan to do it and Shane didnt try to lie, because he knew Rick already knows and would tell through his lies. Brilliant writing and acting out of this whole thing
@kimberlywilmoth91844 ай бұрын
not from the start, he put it together as they were walking through the woods, probably around the halfway point. When he split them up, he had no idea.

Rip Sophia from season 1 episode 2 to season 2 episode 7 Dale from season 1 episode 1 to season 2 episode 11 and Shane from season 1 episode 1 to season 2 episode 12, both Sophia and Dale were not supposed to die the way they did, Sophia was supposed to live to the very end of the show and Dale was supposed to die in season 5, the actor who played Dale, after he wanted to the leave, he changed his mind, but the episode was already written

Shane underestimated Rick. Rick didn't have the situation Shane put him in before and he loves his family so of course he would kill Shane.

Still to this day both Dale’s death and Shane’s death were the first character deaths to hit me hard Dale being the voice of reason and the moral compass in the group and all about having humanity is what’s right for us as human beings one of my favourites and Shane Rick’s best friend and right hand man until Daryl stepped up when he had to put down Dale Shane was another one of my favourites yeah I understand why Shane had to die was never suppose to happen but he had to I can tell that deep down Rick didn’t wanna kill his best friend but he had to Shane lost his mind there was no way out of that I just wish that they coulda worked things out and made up but sadly Rick killing Shane had to happen I’m sure this is gonna have a big impact on the group especially Rick because deep down he cared for him to this day I still miss Dale and Shane.

Randall did not deserve that! He was just a kid. I believe he would have conformed to the group because he just wanted to belong. Shane lost it the day Rick came back to camp and aimed at him woods the next day so he’s been waiting for a chance an excuse and trying to take Rick out! Shane was too far gone at the start!
@courtneymoore317722 күн бұрын
Right. I don't think he would try to escape as long as he had a place. We never even got Maggie confirmation that she and Randall went to school together.

If you pay attention to his verbiage in that scene Shane clearly just wanted to die at this point and baited Rick into killing him Jon Bernthal even wanted a reveal that Shane’s gun was empty the whole time.
@PhilipManzano4 ай бұрын
That would have been such a great reveal.

Little Comic Comparison here Carl shooting Shane zombified was a similarity to the comic because in the comics Shane was already dead by this point in the comics Shane is killed pretty quickly just before they left the Atlanta camp Shane tries to kill Rick but then Carl shoots Shane dead alive saving Rick it’s great that TV Shane outlived his comic counterpart but it’s sad that we lost a great character I thought Jon Bernthal did a great job playing the role as Shane the actor went on to do different things I followed the actor after he was killed off here he went on to be in great movies and I loved him as Frank Castle/The Punisher in Marvel’s Netflix shows Daredevil Season 2 and The Punisher He mighta been an asshole at the end but deep down he’s still a human being that cared about Rick and the group i still miss Shane.

Shane is gone but not forgotten! As the journey continues, many have theorized how would Shane have handled this? Eventually, some of the more seasoned survivors will make Shane choices!

Everything Shane said this episode was 100% right IMO. It took a couple seasons for Rick to become the person he needed to be.
@rebornjm4 ай бұрын
I actually 100% disagree. Shane was never right. Shane only did what he did for his own needs. He never did it for anybody else, but hid it behind his love for Lori. If push comes to shove, he would throw anybody in his group under the bus just to save the person he’s obsessed with that’s how it’s been the whole time. He stated it many times before he is willing to throw somebody in the line of fire to savespecific person instead of trying to save the whole group that is the biggest difference between him and Rick

I personally cried for Shane when I first watched this episode, I also put all the blame on Rick which I realize it’s not fully Rick’s fault in my second time rewatched on the walking dead. On my second rewatch of the series who really at fault here is Lori, Shane, and Rick. Shane death could have been easily avoided if Lori,Shane,and Rick would sit at a round table and just hash everything out. Rick and Shane have difficulty on separate their pride from their feelings, both of them are not thinking how this will effect Carl, which is more a priority than whatever going on between Rick,Lori, and Shane. The children should always come first! And if something happens to either Rick or Shane it will definitely have a negative effect on Carl because he became so close to Shane in the absence of Rick and that perspective is beyond overlooked between Rick and Shane Rick and Shane are literally two alpha males constantly butting heads because both of them are two big headed for their own good. Rick “resolving” the situation was poorly handled, telling and demanding Shane, that he doesn’t love Lori and that’s not his baby is arrogant of Rick because he doesn’t want to have the perspective of the possibility of this might be Shane’s child. This whole situation is a gigantic mess that all three members handled it very immaturely, I can talk about this all day. But the overall point here is that a life was taken because of immaturity, that’s the bottom line here. It’s very sad situation, that could have been prevented if handled correctly!
