Seeing Abraham just walking away and falling to his knees like that breaks me every time This mission literally saved his life and without it he’s just a guy who scared his wife and kids so badly that they ran off and got themselves torn to pieces by Walkers and it’s heartbreaking Michael Cudlitz does a great job.

@@GodlyPurp Please stop being mean to this person. It’s true that they comment quite a bit but I don’t understand why it bothers you so much. Perhaps this person is neurodivergent and The Walking Dead is their special interest. Maybe they’re a neurotypical person who’s just lonely and is trying to connect. Their reason shouldn’t matter and it certainly doesn’t give you license to be repeatedly cruel, especially on Christmas Day. Dial it back, please.

He's right. They're not even normal comments...They're copied and pasted, the SAME comments, MULTIPLE ones, on EVERY reactor's videos. I'm sure it's distracting for a lot of people in the comments section. ​@MisterBaby5

Abraham saw his family eaten by walkers then was gonna kill himself but yes Eugene gave him hope to live and have a mission.

This is a great episode because I loved seeing the backstory on Abraham and how he and Eugene got linked up Eugene gave Abraham a reason to live and the mission was keeping him going But Eugene also taught us another very important survival skill lying and giving people something to believe in Eugene is very smart he knew he was not physically capable of defending himself but he does has his mind a little bit like Tyrion Lannister.

I love this episode because It really makes you care about the new group especially Abraham After Abe’s family was killed Eugene came and saved his life and gave him a purpose.

This is not a spoiler but this does reference the comics :D This is why the episode can be hard to understand The editors failed to realize how many people have not read the comics and the full story really wasn’t explained well in the flashback scenes. The comics have the Abraham story that his former neighbours/friends brutalized his wife and children while he was away if you look closely in the show his wife Ellen has bruises on her face so it is implied subtly and when Abraham returned and found out what happened he killed the men who did this. His wife and children in the TV show were terrified he murdered those men that’s why they ran away The only way we can reason Abraham killing the men was completely justified is if we know the comic backstory. The problem is that the flashback failed to give the entire picture of why Abraham did what he did and the fact it was near the beginning of the collapse So if you go back in your mind society had just collapsed in the back story so this was not normal behaviour to exact revenge like that. For us as viewers it makes it even harder to understand the reaction of the wife and because the scenes for the backstory were incomplete Just realize that by this time in the story of Rick and our crew we are getting used seeing the brutality of lawlessness and revenge/justice killings (The Claimers and The Terminites deaths) So the connection aren’t easily made to understand Abraham’s back story without knowing the comic story. In the episode if you look carefully you’ll see the bodies of his wife and children on the ground you see a corpse with a red head band this is Abraham’s wife Ellen Then it shows his red headed son face down and piece of luggage on the ground and his daughter to the right also face down This flash is only three seconds long so it is easy to miss and it is right after Eugene is hit and collapses after Abraham beat him When Abraham finds his wife and children dead this is why Abraham was going to kill himself not only because he felt alone/ isolated but also because he felt he had terrified his wife and children and caused them to run away from him and be killed by walkers. Hope that helps to bring some clarity :)

Abraham is a nice guy I think what ticked him off was Eugene saying he was smarter than most of them like he was proud of it Abraham and Rosita has given their life’s and risking their lives for this ultimate coward basically. In Abraham’s head it sounded like I’m smarter than you because I was able to trick you into believing this.

Abraham obviosuly married his wife not for her brains, but for how front-heavy she was. He was fully capable of keeping them safe and he posed no danger to his family, yet she left, and got both herself and their kids eaten right outside the store. Amazing. 10/10 strategy. (The above is to be taken as a joke)

Comic Comparisons : Eugene’s story goes the exact same In the comics he says he lies because he knows he’s too weak to survive on his own His only advantage was lying and his knowledge as a high school science teacher he admits that he’s not strong like Abraham he’s not a leader like Rick he’s not good looking like Rosita He used what he knew what to do best If I was in his shoes I would’ve done the same.
