I have been around horses my entire life so over 50 years ! This young lady is one of the most knowledgeable, smart, loving owners/caregivers I have seen. ( reminds me of myself) 😁. It is very clear that this happy happy herd knows they are loved and SAFE with this woman. She takes it slow and safe to rehab them so their systems aren't shocked and so that she can see exactly what is going on as time goes by. You can't always see what's wrong in a week of having a horse and sometimes when people do see that there is something wrong they will often immediately get rid of the horse as flawed. Not this gal - she is very intuitive and can see who they are in their soul after she watches and spends time with them. And it's not the only animal - cats, dogs, and gophers benefit from her soul as well. Thank you form the bottom of all the horse lovers hearts for all you do 🙏❤

Yes brought back childhood memories of discovering my neighbor had got a quarter horse and stuck him in with his beef cattle. I went up to the fence line and called the cows to give them grass snacks. They were on the other side of a wooded area and came thundering into the field. Herd was led by this magnificent stallion who made me gasp. He winnied and made a b line for me. Love at first sight, we were friends from that moment on!

I was a vet tech for many years and also worked on a race track with some crazy horses. I was taught to take the needle off the syringe. Hold the needle between my fingers facing outward (away from my palm), walked up to the horse and pat their neck about 5 time and make sure that doesn't startle them with the patting and then when they are comfortable with that, flip your hand over and pop the needle in their neck, leave it and add a few more pats. Attach the syringe to the needle and give the vac. Never really had a horse react to it to severely. Sometimes with you hesitate with the syringe and needle together they sense that in you and will react. Love your videos by the way.

Aw Scarlett did so well! I remember when I was on the equestrian team in college dealing with some cantankerous horses. I'm more like you when it comes to horses, always giving them the benefit of the doubt, and trying to figure out what *I* did wrong when they misbehaved. I hadn't been around horses much before then, I'm from a poor coal mining community in the Appalachian mountains, but I've always loved them. I got chastised so many times by the trainers for being too nice and being told I needed to show them I was the boss. I didn't want to be the boss, I wanted to be their friend and have them enjoy riding as much as I did. I'm so very glad to know there are trainers like you out there. More trainers need to have this philosophy. Horses are our friends not our slaves. As an aside, I got diagnosed with autism a few years ago, in my 40s. I think there are a lot of undiagnosed high functioning autistic women out there, and we tend to be empathetic to the extreme. Not saying I def think you're one of them, or trying to armchair diagnose anyone, but I wouldn't be surprised, especially since you've mentioned your anxiety, especially social anxiety before. ;)
@artemisXsidecross4 ай бұрын
I am also autistic and time will show that women are 50% of the autistic community. A health system that does not even test generally given medications on women before releasing to the general public should make more clear my comment. I also think our autism is a benefit to humanity with along list of autitic people who have served humanity well. Horse and canine trainer are among them too. 👍

That table saved me. I use it for a few minutes before bed and while the coffee is making in the morning.

I use a trick my mother used on me as a kid when I inject a fearful horse. I scratch their necks really hard with my fingernails while I poke the needle in. The brain can only process one sensation at a time, so while they are feeling that good scratching, most of the time they can’t even feel the needle go in.

Sorry to hear about your back pain, After an x-ray and diagnosis I would suggest you try PT ( depending on the diagnosis). They really helped me dealing with my Degenerative Disc disorder. It was foolish of me to put off dealing and experiencing pain for close to 20 years before addressing the issue. With daily exercises I am mostly pain free.

Back issues are a can of worm to diagnose and treat. I have all three of my lumbar discs damaged and beyond orthopedic remedy. I would lose over an inch of height in 10 hours of being vertical and is an easy way to diagnose compression as incurring problem. A MRI will show scar tissue that x-ray CAT scan misses. I found physical therapy by a good therapist to be helpful. I found most meds for pain and inflammation detrimental to my general health and took a year to stop them completely. My discomfort is tolerable and my mind is much better without the meds.

As to manure pick up tools, buyer beware. Most of the "drag" style I've seen tend to flatten a lot of the piles and you still have to fork them up. But less lifting is less lifting.
