My Winchester model 1886 33 wcf and a little political rant

A couple months ago my FFL friend got some Winchesters in from an estate, the old folks don't live forever. At 73 my time will come before too long. He had a nice Model 1892 SRC in 38WCF and an 1886 rifle in 33WCF, I bought both of them. A shop had a box of resized .33 ammo, also a box of original .33, which was very expensive. I bought the box of resized ammo. Would've been nice to have been in 45-70 but the price of the rifle was good, I think.

If you reload the 33 is about the same as 45/70 thanks for watching

Being Vague is how they win but we will always continue to fight. Beautiful rifle my friend I have seen them going anywhere from $500 on up depending on condition last few I sold went for around $1000 to $1200

How would you rate the recoil of the .33 compared to a similar rifle in 45-70?

Yes maybe a little bit sharper

If you load the rifle to the Clyde Williamson loads, it’s quite impressive! Also it kills on both ends 😟

Found this exact gun in my father's attic. still have not shot it because the ammo that came with it is from the 60s and seems like collectors pieces. I don't reload and just don't have the space to. God why did this round have to die it could've been produced alongside the 4570 and chambered in modern guns , what a shame. Everything is perfect down to the 45/70 case and standard .338 bullet size( they had great forethought)

Hello there, I have a few rifles chambered in 33 WCF, I was curious if you could tell me where I could find dies and other odds and ends so I could start reloading. I only have a few boxes of ammo and I would love to start shooting them more.

Not a shooter....very much a collector gun with the shape this rifle is in. $1,500 and up would sell for on Gunbroker.com easy. Maybe as much as $2000
