My Winter Flowering Jasmine, The Bonsai Zone, March 2023

I didn't expect my Winter Flowering Jasmine (Jasminum nudiflorum) to undergo such a big change today!
A unique characteristic of this plant is its yellow flowers that bloom from fall until late winter or even early spring. It provides a splash of colour during the winter months.

I found a Star Jasmine thrown in with an order of several maples a few years ago, popped it in one of my bulb-bowl training pots and left it be. It flowered like crazy that first year, grew like the neighbours bloomin ivy last year (vigorously). Will have to remember to have a good look at it.

The same for me. In winter we get down to -20c and they have no problems in the ground. Love the early flowers in winter! In my area they have straight branches which arch downwards naturally when they get long.

This is going to be a lovely little tree. In that pot it would make a great Mame bonsai. The pot is beautiful with it. I don't think you need to change it to a purple pot.

I think this was rather a big operation on this little jasmin,still,It seems to do allright,though,and hopely on it's way to recovery to be a beautifull bonsai. I am sure!

I was watching you repot your nightshade. Lately I've been rooting riverbank grape vine cuttings I found outdoors. They've developed amazing roots in less than 3 weeks. Have you tried this "weed"?

It has just started to become active after being dormant since I last pruned it last November. I find they grow in spurts, nothing for a long time, then they shoot out with lots of vigor. I'm wondering if it will flower soon as it is covered in large green buds? I have it in the cool basement for the winter.

You can use just a knife or a pair of scissors. Some people shape their trees with just their hands, breaking off branches they don't want. Don't let the tools stop you doing bonsai!!
