My World Record Car Jump in a 1965 Chev Impala (don't try this at home)

My Guinness World Record Car Jump in a 1965 Chevrolet Impala. 1981 in New Zealand we did this "Kiwi Style". 2 beer bottles full of petrol and a burning rag at the top of the ramp, a 350 ci engine for extra speed, over 100 mph (when I last looked at the speedo) followed by a couple of weeks R & R surrounded by beautiful girls in nurse's uniforms.

Like Trace Adkins sang, "Hell, I can do that". Did in 1978. Dude built an engine for my '64 Corvette. Bout 800hp on race gas. He was also a hit man but local sheriff, who i had worked for, was either afraid to arrest him or wanted me dead. Dude took me on a test drive. Ran off the road, hit a huge metal culvert which launched us up and out. Over 200' from there to the landing off an 80' embankment. Killed him permanent. Killed me but I got to come back...with shattered pelvis, feet, lower legs, wrists, one shoulder and the bones in my face. Partially scalped me. Other than that i was fine. Got to lay on the side of the bluff for couple hours watching my blood run down the rocks and shining on everything around me from the light of the burning car. Unfortunately no film of my crash is available. Have a couple pieces of the Vette tho. Didn't fix my pelvis. Doc told wife I was dyin so no need to waste the surgery. Fooled em. Month later said I mite live but never walk. Fooled em. Think it pissed em off. After 3 cancers, 20 other breaks and fractures and 30th surgery last year, spinal fusion, I still work some as security contractor in several countries and don't look like any of that stuff happened. Thanks to a whole series of miracles I don't deserve. Hope ur still around and doin as well or better. Still have a "64 Corvette Pro Street,1,300hp but don't plan on no jumps. As you know, the flight is smooth, and I remember every nano second, but that landing was a bitch. I did the near death experience thing too but that's another story. Gd vid. L8r.

@@xtreme3minutevideos887 Preciate ya takin time to read and for kind reply. Seems like kindness is gettin spread kinda thin in the world and especially on the 'Tube. Yes, my life has had some tough segments but in case I didn't mention it while I mat relate episodes I will never complain. Not with millions worse off than me. Also, if didn't explain it, I asked for all this. When I was a teen, even tho I wasn't really a full part of my immediate family, I had already had some breaks and near death misses so I prayed that if anything bad was gonna happen to my family to let it happen to me instead. Thot I could take it better than them. So if that is why I get hit with these things, especially since I have my own true family, I still pray it hits me instead. Just be careful what you ask for....givec it some thot. Kinda like proof readin texts or comments before ya hit "send" be sure of the prayer before the "amen". Wish I could get some accident reconstruction officers, can't believe it's taken me this long to think of this, to do a study on my crash. Me just bein in law enforcement over 40yrs. The area hasn't changed except for being overgrown with killer thorn bushes. Pieces of the Corvette are still there where we landed. The culvert we hit is still damaged. I have the piece of lower rocker trim that shows the impact point that exploded my pelvis. Be good training for them and make a good video. Good luck in your travels. @@anascottwelding1761 Yo, Welder Dude, perhaps I mistyped, un, that's 33 now BUT spread out over 40yrs or so. Now I'm up to 5th cancer. Found it when operating on left, and only, kidney. Truly preciate ya takin the time to read whatever I writ and replying. Superman I ain't and Jesus ain't lost, I know where He is. It's me that's lost. At 67 I'm plumb outta time.

@@xtreme3minutevideos887 it's really great to hear stories like this, I was addicted to watching stunt shows and videos as a kid (and an adult!) It really was a great time, it's a lot harder to perform stunts now, but there are still a couple of guys still doing it. I've been lucky enough to watch a few doing it when I was car wrangling.

I was paid an hourly rate of $24,000 per hour. Of course it only took 1 minute so I got $400. OK, sure, that's not taking into account the 4 months I couldn't work while recovering from the broken bones.
