A must watch if you are renting a car, bike, speedboat or anything in a foreign country. I had a terrible experience in Serbia when I rented a car at Belgrade Airport. Based on what happened, I can say the worst car agency at Belgrade airport is ‘AR Rent a Car’. Watch this video and you’ll come to know about the things you must know before renting a car anywhere in the world. How rental agencies try to trap their customers. All I have to say is this Serbia is not Western Europe. I have had a similar experience in Hungary. At the time of car delivery they don't check and hurry. And while collection of the car they check with microscopic eyes and take money from Western European residents or citizens for no reason. It is not just the agency you showed, I was duped by Hertz at Budapest Airport for a lame "polishable" scratch. Ideally they shouldn't be charging for "polishable" scratch. My experience in EU (western EU) is this. They give the car, you take a video. Any scratch, you send them the pictures. That works.

Bhai when I was there in Budapest, they didn’t even allowed we three Indians in one of the restaurant, we visited 3 times and all times for different reasons we were denied, I even wrote a review about my experience, the restaurant name was “Gettó Gulyás”.

Agree with you, I drove in US, EU, SEA and Australia too..never faced anything like that..if you remain calm and don't push things around..most of car rentals are fine..agree you click pics before taking car, it sort all issues later, no need of filming, few people may get offended with this..this you learn only when you live outside India for considerable time..overall, this situation could've been handled better..

It's always better to be cautious. Especially when renting any expensive equipment. Almost 75% of the times, there some issue comes up when returning. I have used Zoomcar in India. And my experiences have been good with them.

I was at home this weekend with my parents .. saturday night, i decided to start a mountain trekker series . Started with Egypt and Italy is going on.. We enjoyed a lot and still enjoying.. I remember renting a bike in Pondicherry and my friend, unfortunately, had an accident and the rear-view mirror broke! Then while returning the bike, the guy was so good with me, He just asked 'are you fine?' and did not take any money from me. This is what happens in India...

Agar aap ye kehte ki ‘What if someone else scratches it ‘ then the response would have been a bit different. AAP directly uspe chale gaye . This is the problem with almost all car rental agencies. Nobody will come to our rescue. Nobody will question them also. So the scam will continue forever. The best thing u did is taking a video of the car. Still they can make galata. Thank god ur saved.

I had charged 800/- in Jaislmer for a very small scratch. Everything except that was a very good experience about that company. Owner, Driver and all were very polite and helpful. Still After 2-3 months when my friend goes to Jaislmer, I told him to go to that agency and check that car if it’s there. Luckily that car was in garage on that day. He found a white radium sticker on that scratch. You won’t believe, My friend argued so loudly that they give my 800/- back to him😄

My experience of renting out car in Australia and Newzeland : 1. Always rent from reputed company, they will charge a bit more but always peace of mind. 2. Take pics , videos before you sign off. 3. Always get insurance, costs 20$ extra but definitely definitely worth it. Have first hand experience of an accident where car was written off. 4. The big companies thrive on good name, they never misbehave, helpful and polite to the core. 5. Always refuel before handing over, they charge premium rate for fuel if they have to refill.

On my recent Dubai Trip I just didn't rent a Car cause there were soo many horrible experiences of companies keeping their deposit. Almost all companies had them on google maps. I was actually sad to see that. Great thing was Dubai had a great Metro and Bus system. Didn't feel the need to rent a car at all. After actually witnessing this on your channel I rather not goto to a country that has expensive transportation or horrible public transport cause for me renting a Car is out of the Question. Metro, Buses, Taxi, Uber, cycles and lastly walking... that's for me =).

Janab, aap bhi thoda zada kar rahe the... eupore me, "Ek haath se de..ek haath se le wala maamla nahi chalta hai" I cannot tell about Serbia but in Western Europe if you will do like this most ppl will get pissed off. You can take delivery, inspect in more detail before driving away and if you spot something just call them again. But I can understand, its not same as its in western eupore. Just camera mat lagao uske saamne, ppl get irritated And always but full coverage then you have nothing to inspect.

Very well done !! These rental companies keep your credit card details and can later charge your card for damages. Its very important you check them while collecting and get them to confirm everything is okay while returning. In the US and Canada, people pay collision damage waiver if they do not have own auto insurance . It is optional and not insurance and people who have insurance do not pay it. It is obviously what rental car companies want or they to try to harass in some way for not buying. The CDW is a way,however, to waive their rights to charge you for damage to a vehicle (yes, even if it is totaled but is subjective depending on car and value. You may be liable upto small amount too ) but this is only for damage to vehicle. You will have to get supplemental liability too (optional) for any third party claims that arise due to your fault which includes property damage and then of course personal medical insurance too for you and your passengers (optional).

You tackled this very well, Kudos. In future try to take insurance with zero excess. Bit costly but peace of mind. And secondly try to rent from top players like Hertz, Enterprise, National, Avis. Thirdly, Pay through American Express card, if you need to raise dispute, Amex handles this very well.

You handle the situation pretty good. I don't know what the hell was the guy's problem to show you the car during inspection in the first place and after you return the car they are inspecting the car with so much details and patience. Just to earn some money they have ruined the reputation in front of the world. It is good to record the video beforehand. The both guys behaviour Is totally unacceptable. I know in world there is good and bad people but u have stand for your own self. Your stand was right about not to drag the country name in between the conversation/fight.

i like what you said. don't just let it go under pressure or introvert. just speak and share your concern. it is the best way to deal during travel or life. otherwise have to waste money. my many friends have similar experiences and even after opting for insurance options. they will charge processing fees which eventually leads us to pay more only. this is a must in water sports rental too. otherwise ready to loose thousands of $$
